I have had this question pop up in conversation a few times recently so I thought I would share the information here.

Pelvic floor dysfunction can involve many of the things listed below, or it can only involve one or two. The important thing to know is that even if symptoms are mild now, they are likely to get worse without proper treatment.

🌸Urinary Incontinence: Leaking urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh, lift or exercise (to name a few).
🌸Urinary urgency or frequency: Having an urgent need to urinate and/or urinating frequently where you aren't able to hold for long.
**This can also happen with your bowels.
🌸Pain: Pain in the abdominal, pelvic, lower back, or ge***al area.
🌸Sensation changes: Numbness or changes in sensation (less or more) in the abdominal, pelvic, lower back, or ge***al area.
🌸Painful s🤍x: Discomfort or pain during intimacy (not just in*******se).
🌸Difficulty with emptying your bowels: Pushing and straining when trying to empty your bowels, or not being able to empty completely.
🌸Difficulty emptying your bladder: Feeling like you can't fully empty your bladder when you urinate.
🌸Pain with emptying your bladder or bowel.
🌸Heaviness or bulging in the pelvic area: Feeling a dragging, aching, pressure or a bulge in the lower abdomen and/or va**na.

The good news is that we can help! Call us today or use our online booking link to make an appointment.

We have been busy! 🤓🤍 🌸
The journey as a women’s pelvic health physiotherapist involves always learning and advancing your skills. WHTA courses are always my first choice. The focus of this course was on pelvic pain for genitourinary and anorectal chronic pain disorders (bladder pain, ge***al pain as well as pain occurring in the back passage).
Pain in these areas significantly affect quality of life and can cause bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction.
Women’s pelvic health physiotherapists play an integral part in addressing and managing these conditions.
