The science of IBS 🤓
We all like to think if we just ate a little better or tried a little harder our IBS would be a little…. Well, less.
But 🤷♀️ nope.
She don’t work like that.
The reality is IBS is a micro organism imbalance.
YOU don’t have the correct balance in your gut OR the digestive function and immune capacity to correct it.
You need to do a little rebalancing of bacteria.
💩And you have a choice… you can either wing youe way through the rebalance 💊🤷♀️🤰 > or you want plan your way through it.
🦠Understanding what’s growing in your gut goes a LONG way to understanding how to heal it.

Well 2025 felt like being caught in the inside while the sets rolled in 😂 🌊
Didn’t drown, did swallow salt water, thought I’d drown, almost ended up on the reef, got a fin chop (or 3)…
Got out the back. Caught a 30sec wave. Then got stuck for another 30min 😂 Repeat, repeat, repeat.
BUT HEY WE DIDN’T DROWN.
Jokes aside. Mostly a rough year with some incredible moments.
But look where I am now - somehow got washed up back on the right coastline. West is Best.
Will definitely change up my wish list for 2026 though…the focus is “You”. As in me. I’m choosing me. In every moment.. because pouring from an empty cup really isn’t pouring at all.
2026; A healthy happy Sheradyn, so I can pour back into my friends, family, community and business.. and I’m so ready for that (& getting more wave time 😂)

⬇️Comment GUIDE for my IBS Food Guide (for the active girl who’s tried it all) ⬇️
👉You already eat healthy… you just need a few tweaks to stop the bloating, gas + constipation.
Here’s what matters:
👉Quantity (1/2 pot vs 1cup)
👉Quality (organic grass fed butter vs margarine 🤢)
👉Fodmap index (garlic vs garlic infused oil)
Going in circles with what’s healthy and what’s IBS friendly?

Macros for gut health ⬇️
Most women don’t want to track.. it’s time consuming, can be anxiety inducing and can trigger old disordered eating behaviour patterns..
BUT when working on gut health, the extra data is super helpful!
Although we don’t need it, understanding your symptoms, reactions to food, triggers, macro break down really helps us understand your body better… and heal faster.
If I wanted to heal my gut.. these are the things I’d track (loosely); fiber, fat, protein, carbs, zinc, iron, vit c, vit an and b vitamins.

Where did the passion for helping other grow from?
My personal Wellness Journey began in 2013 when I was diagnosed with Glandular Fever. The Epstein-Barr Virus caused a onset of symptoms including gluten intolerance, anxiety, infertility, hormone imbalances, impaired immune, leaky gut, parasite infections, bacterial imbalances and adrenal burnout. Being sent from specialist to specialist, repeating my symptoms, undertaking continual blood tests and physical examinations, only to be told that there was nothing wrong with me, made me very frustrated with traditional medicine. When you are one of the “healthiest” people you know - very nutritionally conscious and active, but cannot get “healthy”, rather are battling with ongoing symptoms, it starts to mess with your head. I had tried eliminating allergens, paleo, keto, FODMAPs, food combining, fasting, Gaps and calorie counting, yet my bad skin, bloating, IBS, stomach pains and fatigue weren't going away.
After finishing University, I started doing my own research into gut health and its impact on all systems in the body. The research was astounding, and the more I learnt the more I wanted to know! Consulting alongside a Nutritional GP, as well as seeing my own Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, I began to learn that all my symptoms were “real”, “curable” and interlinked! By using different “holistic testing” methods we started to uncover root causes. By treating these with a range of different herbs, supplements, food principles and lifestyle changes (rather than pills and antibiotics), I started (for the first time in years) to feel good again! An increase in energy, a decrease in pain and a more balanced approach to food has fulled my desire to learn as much as I can about the gut and its impact on health.
My personal and educational experience has led me to believe in three core principles that influence your health: Food (Nutrition), Mood (Mindset) and Movement. These 3 work together to either heal or hinder the body. It’s important to know that your Gut controls how these three interact with each other. A holistic, functional medicine approach has helped me to find balance in these three areas, and I hope that I can do the same for you.
