This week I have treated people with -
Lower back pain from swinging a golf club, (he's pretty good, but has a big comp coming up...)
How did I help him and what did I end up treating:
- External Obliques
- QL
- Psoas
- Glutes
- Hamstrings
- Quads
- Hipflexors
Neck and Upper back stiffness - Post Motor Vehicle Accident and poor posture from working at a desk or physical manual labour
( 3x people who came in for similar treatments)
How did I help and what did I end up treating:
- Erector Spinae Group
- Rhomboids
- Trapezius
- Latissimus Dorsi
Clients with shoulder/neck/back tension often have a lot of holding in the upper trapezius & rhomboids, poor scapular control, and prolonged static posture (e.g., sitting at a desk) which makes these muscles susceptible to knots, trigger points and fatigue.
- Deltoids
- Rotator Cuff Group
- Levator Scap
- Trapezius
- Splenius capitis & Splenius cervicis
- Sub-occipital
Post Knee Replacement - this changes the biomechanics of the knee joint, and therefore the muscle patterns around it and up the chain (hips, glutes, and down to calves and feet).
- Quadriceps (Re**us femoris, vastus medialis (VMO), vastus lateralis, vastus intermedius)
These muscles provide stability and patellar tracking. After surgery, they often atrophy (especially VMO) and develop tightness from scar tissue and guarding.
- Hamstrings
- Glutes
- Calf muscles
- Adductors
- ITB
With each of these clients I treated I have given some stretches to do - or confirmed what they re doing (rehab) to make sure their technique is good!
I regularly get results from my clients who put in the effort of having regular consistent bookings and adhering to post treatment recommendations.
