Do you agree?

In the book "Born to Run", Caballo Blanco (Micah True) introduces a concept called "run free". To run without being impeded by watches, heart rate monitors or fancy high tech gear. To run free is to run by feel WITH the terrain you're running on, not against it.

Through her work, biomechanist Katy Bowman introduced me to the concept of movement nutriton. Movement as a form of nutrition to the body, which can be divided into your macronutrients (fat/carbohydrates/proteins = endurance/strength/ power) but also micronutrients (the movement of cells when you exist).

So, by marrying the two ideas together you get "Move free". The ability to eat your Movement meals (workouts) and snacks (activities of daily living) without the need for additional contraptions that are essential holding you together...

Did you know that the way you breathe can have a significant impact on your orofacial development, teeth arrangement and overall respiratory health?

Nasal breathing triumphs over mouth breathing for a multitude of reasons. The path through your nasal passage is longer than the one through your mouth, allowing the air more time to warm up, humidify, and filter out tiny particles, dust, and allergens. This makes for a healthier, more comfortable inhalation. 🌬

But it's not just about comfort. Nasal breathing aids in the proper growth and development of the oral and facial structure, as it encourages the correct positioning of the tongue on the roof of the mouth. This can lead to a broad, well-developed jaw, straighter teeth and a reduced risk of teeth crowding.

From a performance point of view, nasal breathing may release nitric oxide (NO2) in your sinuses. This magical molecule enhances the lungs' capacity to absorb oxygen. More O2 = better athlete!

So the next time you catch yourself mouth breathing, follow these steps:
1. Mouth closed
2. Breathing through your nose
3. Tongue on the roof of your mouth, applying a gentle upward pressure
