Did you know there are certain nutrients that aid in promoting a good nights sleep for your little one ?
Tryptophan and Protein are two nutrients you may want to make sure are within their everyday diet.
Tryptophan is an essential amino acid which plays an important role in the production of serotonin which we need to produce the sleep hormone melatonin!!. As our body doesn't naturally produce tryptophan we need to acquire it through diet. Such things as lamb, dairy, beef as well as nuts whole grains, banana & tuna.
Low protein intake has also been linked to poorer quality sleep.
We forget to make sure our little ones are getting enough protein everyday . Ideas for protein and iron rich foods are read meat, cottage cheese, tofu, lentils, salmon and the list goes on .
