Learn the foundations of Romiromi and Mirimiri in a hands-on immersive wānanga. This day is for those beginning their journey or wanting to deepen their connection to traditional Māori healing practices.

✨ Kānawehi Rāranga with Whaea Maraea ✨

We’re blessed to have our beautiful māmā here with us who has extended her stay in Naarm/Melbourne until the 16th of July, sharing her passion for Kānawehi Rāranga – storytelling through woven canvas pieces.

💫 She is offering:
• Group Sessions
• One-on-One Sessions
• Commissioned pieces for your whare, or workspace

After years of creating traditional rāranga with harakeke, mum developed arthritis in her hands. But her deep love for weaving couldn’t be stopped — she transitioned to weaving on canvas to continue telling stories through mahi toi.

Having exhibited her work back home and shared her mātauranga throughout Aotearoa, she is now retired and travelling, offering wānanga through kānawehi raranga wherever she goes.

✨ A special part of her process is repurposing pre-loved canvases from hokohoko/second-hand shops, giving new life to discarded materials.

🌿 If you have an old canvas you’d like to repurpose, or you’re looking to add a new piece of meaningful, woven art to your home or workspace, reach out — we’d love to create something special with you.

If you or your kaumātua would like some company, a creative day out, or you’re keen to do something meaningful as a whānau or community group — we’d love to host you.
