Eating disorders are commonly misunderstood by many, including some professionals. Many people living with disordered eating can feel shame around their experiences. The stereotypical views we have about body types, can led to further distorted views of body image. Many people associate disordered eating with women and girls, however we know that many men and boys are also impacted and can experience further shame and stigmatisation around their experiences.
The reaction to Andrew Flintoff's powerful documentary about the eating disorder has been huge.
