To anyone who is about to have surgery or has just had their stoma surgery, never be embarrassed about something completely out of your control. Coming to terms with having a stoma was so incredibly hard at the start. Take the time to feel the feelings. Never forget you are deserving of all the love & support. This is just a chapter, not your whole story. It gets easier.

Being an Ostomate and having an Ostomate community around you—whether it is a close friend, online, or groups to ask questions—we are all here to raise awareness & support each other. Know you are not alone through this journey.”

As we continue to celebrate World Ostomy Day, Ostomate Robbie shares his journey and resilience as a cancer survivor and now double Ostomate.

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer in May 2022, without my two stomas, surgery would not have been possible to save my life twice. Being a double Ostomate has its challenges, but it has shown me just how strong I really am.
