The winter chills were kept at bay with the residents and staff of Sunset Views Manor cosying up in their favourite for a . The celebration was made even sweeter with a gorgeous teddy bear cake, and residents brought along their adorable teddies to join the party. Ricky led an Elvis tribute concert that had everyone swinging and swaying. 🧸

The residents from Sunset Views Manor had a wonderful time on a special NAIDOC Week outing to the Wathaurong Boolan Boolan Cultural Centre in Geelong.

The centre, named after the lyrebird which is a symbol of communication in Wathaurong language was an opportunity for the residents to connect with Aboriginal culture and Country, and to learn more about the rich traditions, stories, and history of the Wathaurong people.

The day was filled with learning and deep cultural appreciation leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

2. Steps for entry into Aged Care.
3. Fees and Charges associated with Residential Aged Care.

Sunset Views Manor recently hosted Beekeeper Tom from Coastal Nectar.

Ben presented an Educational bee Workshop to the residents, discovering why bees are important to our environment and the food we eat. The Workshop covered topics such as the lifecycle of a bee, pollination powers, as well as providing hands on equipment, beeswax and of course honey!

Residents and staff got to taste the delicious honey that Ben had just harvested, as well as enjoying a hands on candle making workshop. A fascinating Presentation, Workshop and experience enjoyed by all. 🐝🌼🍯

The Residents enjoyed a visit to the local kinder to spend time with children, reading them stories, doing puzzles and singing songs together.

Bringing the residents and pre-school children together provides learning opportunities, and helps to promote bonds between the generations. It also helps improve the residents social and physical wellbeing by fostering meaningful engagement between the generations.

The residents recently enjoyed a craft session with Peter, working with leather, making coin purses and key rings, followed by a delicious afternoon tea.

Leather crafting can help with using your fine-tune your motor skills, improving your dexterity, increasing your strength, and encouraging hand-eye coordination. So not only is it fun, it's good for you! 🪡🔑

The residents recently enjoyed an outing to Scienceworks Museum in Spotswood. There was something for everyone to try there! The museum has interactive exhibitions and experiences to see how science works. The residents enjoyed solving puzzles, learning new things and exploring all that the museum has to offer. 💡 🖼🫶

Pet Therapy dog Bailey recently visited the residents at Sunset Views Manor.

It is said that Pet Therapy can improve the mood, stimulate better cognitive function, improve social interaction, reduce stress, agitation, depression and anxiety, and help with wellbeing. ....and the photos of these residents cuddling and patting Bailey certainly show the joy that he brought! 🐕❤️

The residents visited Werribee Zoo, enjoying the Zoo Safari bus ride, viewing the animals and listening intently to all the information provided by the tour guide. Nellie in particular had made a special request to visit the elephants.

It was also a nice opportunity to meet some new people, to sit with a cuppa and watch the world go by, as well as explore the Zoo surroundings. A wonderful excursion was enjoyed by all the residents who attended. 🦘🦓🐂🦁🦊
