Why is self-promotion so awkward for physios?
Turns out… a lot of us feel the same way. 😅

From not wanting to sound arrogant, to staring at a blank screen trying to write a bio that doesn’t make you cringe — it’s a universal physio experience.

And the funny part?

Self-promotion isn’t actually about bragging.
It’s about helping people understand who you are and how you help.

Luke P**n and John Contreras .physio dove deep into this in Episode 32 of The Physio Social Club Podcast, exploring why it feels so uncomfortable… and how to make it feel a whole lot more human.

If self-promotion makes you want to evaporate into the floor, this one’s for you. 👇

🎙️ New Episode Out Now: “The Cringe of Self-Promotion”

Let’s be honest — self-promotion doesn’t come easy for most physios. From writing our bios to talking to referrers (or even describing what we’re good at!), it can all feel a bit… awkward.

In this episode, John Contreras .physio sits down with Luke P**n to unpack why it feels so uncomfortable, how to reframe it, and what authentic self-promotion can look like in our profession.

If you’ve ever felt a bit “ick” about selling yourself, this chat’s for you.

🚨Last Podcast Episode for 2024!

In the latest episode of The Physio Social Club Podcast, hosts Luke P**n and John Contreras .physio tackle a fascinating and often overlooked topic: what does it mean to “win” in physiotherapy and healthcare?

They unpack the concept of winning from multiple perspectives—clinician, patient, and the therapeutic relationship—and explore how these perspectives don’t always align. Is a patient’s recovery the only measure of success? Or does the clinician’s personal growth and the trust built in the therapeutic relationship also count as a win?

Luke and John dive into the broader influence of society’s winning culture, questioning whether it serves or hinders the field of physiotherapy.

This insightful conversation will resonate with clinicians reflecting on their goals, values, and how they define success in their practice.

Tune in for a thought-provoking discussion that challenges conventional definitions of success and offers a fresh perspective on the profession.

A great reminder from the team 🫶

“It’s easy to get caught up in the expectations of others over the holiday period. But everyone’s reality is different.

Someone you know might be experiencing family difficulties, feeling lonely, facing financial pressure, or missing celebrations because they’re working.

Encourage your loved ones to do what works for them.

Send this to someone to remind them to look after numero uno 💛”
