The Challenge Trial has finally been published. Yet another study to support the benefits of exercise physiology interventions in oncology, this one in colon cancer.

It compares a structured exercise intervention to health education in the control group. The challenge (ha) with any exercise trial is that you can’t stop the control group from exercising, as it is harmful to not exercise.

The study participants under the supervision of an exercise physiologist had better outcomes - in overall survival and reduce recurrence rates.
