Happy World S*xual Health Day incredible Humans!

S*xual health is about so much more than preventing illness; it’s about creating lives filled with pleasure, safety, intimacy & connection. It’s about having the knowledge, confidence & support to embrace your body, your desires & your boundaries.

This year’s theme, “S*xual Justice: What Can We Do?”, reminds us that s*xual health is a human right. Everyone deserves the power & resources to make free choices about their bodies & s*xuality. We are all worthy of access to education, respectful healthcare & spaces where our experiences are honoured without shame.

As a Holistic S*xologist & Counsellor, I see daily how empowering it is when people discover that their s*xuality is not a problem to be “fixed,” but a beautiful, complex part of who they are.

Today is an invitation to:
• Explore your own needs & desires with curiosity.
• Prioritise communication, consent & pleasure in relationships.
• Challenge stigma, shame & silence around s*xuality.
• Remember that your s*xual health is part of your whole wellbeing.

Your s*xuality matters.
Your pleasure matters.
You matter.

If you’d like support to explore your own journey with s*xuality, intimacy, or relationships, I’d love to connect with you; links in my bio.

I feel it’s time for a gentle life update. After years of holding the line through long-term cancer treatment, I’ve reached a tender & significant threshold; I’m now in the slow, deliberate process of coming off the medication that’s shaped my body & life for five long years.

This chapter isn’t loud or triumphant; it’s quiet, raw & sacred.
A return.
A reckoning.
A whispered invitation back into rhythm with myself.

My body is learning who she is without suppression; Reacquainting herself with sensation, with hope, with the possibility of cycles again.

I’ve been softening into the unknown & stepping gently back from anything that’s felt too heavy, including social media. If I’ve seemed quieter or needed to shift things around, thank you for your patience. Your grace has meant more than you know.

I’m still seeing clients, but I’ve been intentional with how I care for myself outside of sessions; moving at a slower, more sustainable pace.

I’m still very much in the cocoon, but I can feel the stirrings of wings.
When I emerge, it will be with reverence. With truth. With renewed devotion to this wild, precious life.

Thank you for walking with me.

With love & gratitude.

Tegan

Happy Pride Month!

June is a time to honour the rich, radiant tapestry of the LGBTQIA+SB community; a celebration rooted in resilience, love & the ongoing journey toward justice & joy.

Pride Month takes place in June to honour the Stonewall Uprising of 1969; when LGBTQIA+ communities, led by Black & Brown trans women, bravely resisted police brutality & systemic oppression. These courageous acts sparked a global movement for liberation, visibility & rights.

On these sacred lands, it’s vital we honour the First Nations LGBTQIA+SB community. Sistergirls & Brotherboys have long held cultural, social & spiritual roles within their communities; identities that pre-date colonisation. Despite the impact of colonisation & ongoing marginalisation, their presence & pride are still potent & powerful.

Being an ally means walking with the community year-round, not just in June. Some ways you can advocate with heart are:

• Educate Yourself: Read q***r & Blak q***r voices. Listen with humility.
• Use Inclusive Language: Honour pronouns, gender diversity & lived experiences.
• Support Queer-Owned Businesses & Organisations: Especially those led by First Nations people.
• Speak Up: Challenge discrimination in your circles, workplaces & policies.
• Celebrate with Consent: Pride is protest & joy. Hold space for both.

To every soul in the LGBTQIA+SB community:
Your existence is powerful. Your truth is sacred. Your joy is revolutionary.
You are not too much. You are not alone. You are needed, exactly as you are.

Keep blooming.
Keep rising.
Keep loving.

With deep pride & endless love, always — Tegan 🏳️‍🌈💚

May has cm & so should you!
This is your annual permission slip (not that you ever needed one) to explore, indulge & worship at the altar of your own pleasure.

Ma********on is more than just a good time, it’s an act of self-connection, a form of self-care & a celebration of your s*xual autonomy. It helps us understand what we like, how we respond & what makes us tick; essential intel for mind-blowing partnered s*x & a more loving relationship with yourself.

Here are just a few delicious, evidence-backed reasons to make time for self-pleasure this month:

• Boosts mood & relieves stress by releasing dopamine, endorphins & oxytocin
• Enhances sleep quality by promoting relaxation & reducing cortisol
• Increases blood flow, supporting erectile function & vulvovaginal health
• Can relieve menstrual cramps, tension headaches & chronic pelvic pain
• May support immune function & lower blood pressure through stress reduction
• Frequent ej*******on is linked to a reduced risk of prostate cancer
• Reduces shame, strengthens s*xual self-esteem & builds confidence

Whether you use toys, hands, fantasy, breath, movement or mirrors; this month is an invitation to slow down, turn inward & honour your desire.

You’re not “just” touching your body, you’re tending to your aliveness, healing shame & creating space for pleasure.

Let it be sacred. Let it be silly. Let it be pleasurable. Let it be yours.

31/03/2025

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to honour, uplift & celebrate transgender & gender-diverse people.

Trans people have always existed. Across time, culture & continents; in sacred roles, in community, in resistance, in joy. Yet despite this enduring presence, so much of the world still refuses to see trans people clearly, or treat them with the dignity every human deserves.

TDOV was founded in 2009 by activist Rachel Crandall as a response to the lack of days that celebrated living trans people. Until then, the most recognised date was Trans Day of Remembrance, a day of mourning. TDOV shifts the lens to pride, visibility & life.

But being visible isn’t always safe. In today’s climate, trans communities continue to face rising hatred, political scapegoating, dangerous reforms & ongoing breaches of human rights. Patriarchy, transphobia & systemic ignorance intersect to suppress, erase & punish gender diversity; all while demanding trans people explain, justify, or prove who they are. It’s chaos. It’s cruelty. And it must be named.

To every trans & non-binary person reading this: you are not the problem. You are a gift. Your existence expands the world & deepens our understanding of humanity. You don’t owe anyone an explanation. You are enough, just as you are.

I stand with you. I see you. I celebrate you. Not just today, but every day.

Visibility creates the possibility of community, it allows shared stories to rise, for courage to be mirrored, for bonds to form across space & time. But visibility must be met with action. So to every ally: let your love be loud. Show up in the quiet moments & the big ones. Speak up, step in, stand beside.

This is me waving the flag in your honour & sending love to every trans soul fighting to live freely, fiercely & fully. You are ever inspiring. I’m proud to be beside you.

Our Aussie farmers do it tough, especially those committed to ethical & organic practices like my incredible friends . There’s no days off. Every drop of water counts. Every decision is made with the land, animals & future yields in mind.

It takes grit, passion & a deep reverence for the Earth to be an organic farmer. I couldn’t be prouder to source my food locally & to call these inspiring people friends.

When you support local farmers, you’re not just getting fresher, more nutritious produce, you’re voting for biodiversity, soil health, animal welfare, reduced food miles & ethical food systems that honour people & planet.

If you want to taste the incredible difference these practices have on the taste of food, their Farm to Table experience is unmissable. A wonderful afternoon on the farm, with some of the freshest, tastiest seasonal menus I’ve ever had the joy of eating. When I originally wrote this post there were Tickets available for their April event, but they’re now sold out! Please Sign up to their mailing list to stay informed for future events!

Fear not! You can still get your hands on their incredible produce. Check out their page & pre-order for weekend pick-up via www.flockstockandbasil.com. Your support truly makes a difference.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

Endometriosis has deeply impacted so many people I love. It’s a chronic condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, leading to inflammation, scarring & often debilitating pain; pain that research has shown can be as intense as labor contractions. Despite this, endometriosis is widely misunderstood, frequently dismissed & often takes years to diagnose.

The Australian government has increased funding for endometriosis research, with part of a $573 million health package announced in 2024. A promising blood test in development could also shorten diagnosis times, but we still have a long way to go.

Recent research has uncovered a bacterial link to endometriosis, with Fusobacterium found at higher rates in affected tissue. This raises new questions about gut health, inflammation & the immune system’s role in disease progression. Some evidence suggests that probiotics (Lactobacillus gasseri), high-fiber diets & anti-inflammatory foods may help manage symptoms.

Chronic stress also plays a major role in pain perception & inflammation, making nervous system regulation crucial for symptom management.

While there’s no cure, science-backed strategies can help, including:
• Medicinal cannabis – reducing chronic pain & inflammation
• TENS machines – disrupting pain signals
• Or***ms & pleasure – boosting endorphins for natural pain relief
• Pilates & core strength – easing pelvic tension
• Gut health & nutrition – probiotics, fiber & anti-inflammatory foods
• Acupuncture – research suggests pain relief benefits
• Herbal medicine – turmeric & pine bark extract may reduce inflammation
• Yoga & breathwork – calming the nervous system & easing pain
• Pelvic floor therapy & massage – relieving tightness & improving mobility
• Heat therapy – baths & heating pads to relax muscles & soothe cramps
• Stress management – mindfulness & nervous system regulation

We need more awareness, more research & more compassion. Endometriosis is real. The pain is real. If you or someone you love is affected, you are not alone. Keep advocating for your health. I see you. 💛

07/03/2025

International Women’s Day exists because gender equality is still a fight, not a given. It’s a day to celebrate women’s achievements, but more importantly, to recognise the systemic barriers that still hold us back. Women continue to be underpaid, overworked & undervalued. Our bodies are policed, our voices silenced & our safety too often treated as an afterthought. This day is a reminder that change doesn’t happen in silence; it happens when we rise, speak & demand more.

Sisterhood has surely saved my life. Through heartbreak, through grief, through the moments I questioned my worth; women have held me, lifted me & reminded me of my power. I am endlessly grateful for the strong women in my life, the ones who have shaped me, challenged me & stood beside me through both the dark & light.

Today isn’t just about celebration. It’s about resistance. It’s about acknowledging that gender inequality is still deeply entrenched in our world. Women still earn less than men for the same work. We are still disproportionately responsible for unpaid labor. We are still understudied & undervalued.

To every woman fighting for a better world, to every sister who has lifted another, I see you. I stand with you. The work is not done, but we are in this together. 💜

Happy Valentine’s Day incredible Humans!

Whether today feels like a celebration or just another date on the calendar, I want to remind you that love is not confined to romance, nor is it something you must wait for. Love is already yours. It moves through the spaces between laughter with a close friend, the gentle nuzzle of a pet who trusts you completely, the warmth of the sun on your skin & the quiet moments when you choose to show up for yourself.

If you’re partnered, I hope today is a reminder to cherish, to pause, to pour a little extra love into your connection. If you’re not, I hope today reminds you that love is not something you lack. It’s something you are. You deserve love in all its forms, self-love, friendship, community & the deep knowing that you are enough exactly as you are.

Let today be an invitation to honor the love that surrounds you, to recognise the ways you give & receive it & to celebrate the most important love story of all; the one you have with yourself.

New handle, same heart…

I’m excited to share that my social media handle is now  … a small but meaningful shift that reflects a larger transformation in my life & work. This change feels like breaking out of a box & stepping into a more authentic version of myself, one that embraces all of who I am.

As I reflect on the path I’ve walked, one filled with challenges, growth & deep transformation, my journey is far from over & I’m feeling so inspired to learn more.

For so long, I’ve been known as a s*xologist, a healer & someone who holds space for others in the most intimate & vulnerable areas of their lives. Don’t worry, this isn’t changing. But I am more than a title.

It’s time to honour the fullness of my evolution. My work in counselling, mental health & s*xual health has expanded me in ways I never imagined. Alongside these practices, I’m being drawn toward new horizons, including somatic healing, integrative approaches & the profound possibilities of psychedelic-assisted therapy. Having experienced the power of these medicines firsthand, I feel called to explore how they can be integrated with care & compassion into transformative healing journeys.

This shift isn’t about letting go of s*xology, my heart does & always will beat for s*x therapy, it’s about embracing more of myself & creating space to offer even more to those who need it.

With this new handle,  , I’m stepping forward as Tegan, not just as a healer, but as someone who has walked her own path through the depths & is still learning, still expanding.

Thank you for being part of my journey. I hope we can continue walking this path together, with even more honesty & heart than before.

18/12/2024

As we step into the holiday season, it’s easy to get swept up in the glorification of busy & the chaos of it all. This is your gentle reminder that self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential. Similarly to traveling on an airplane, you need to put on your oxygen mask first before you can help anyone else. To support you through the holiday season, here are some evidence-based & heart-centered tips to help you navigate this time with grace, presence & vitality:

• Movement as Medicine - Daily movement can reduce symptoms of anxiety & depression by up to 30%—50%, a powerful reminder of the mind-body connection. A gentle walk, yoga, or even a dance party in your living room can make all the difference.

• Nourish Your Gut, Nourish Your Mind - Your gut is your “second brain,” playing a key role in mood regulation. While enjoying holiday food, consider adding fresh, whole foods to support your gut & help your body handle the festive load. Think vibrant veggies, lean proteins & fermented goodies.

• Connection is Key - For some, this season can feel isolating & lonely. Reach out to someone you care about with a simple message or phone call to foster a sense of belonging. If you’re struggling, remind yourself: you are worthy of connection & love.

• Stress & Relationships - Holiday gatherings can be a source of stress for many, especially with tricky interpersonal dynamics. Remember the circle of control, focus on what’s within your power, your reactions, boundaries & self-care, & let go of what you can’t change.

• Presence vs Presents - Gift giving doesn’t have to break the bank. A heartfelt letter, a meaningful conversation, some fresh flowers from your garden or simply showing up with presence & intention, is often more cherished than a material gift.

• Be kind to yourself - This season isn’t about perfection; it’s about connection, joy & rest. Give yourself permission to slow down, breathe deeply & honour your needs.

If you need extra support navigating this time of year, I have two sessions left before the end of the year! Sending you all love & warmth as you move through the holiday season.
