Beyond the Sugar Line

Think you’re making a healthy choice just because the "Total Sugars" line is low? You might be missing the real story hidden just a few lines above.

It is easy to be misled by a label that shows only a very tiny small amount of sugar: 3g for example, which is roughly equivalent to one sugar cube. However, that same serving might contain a much larger amount of carbohydrates, says 21 grams of total carbohydrates for example, which is the equivalent of 6 sugar cubes.

Carbs are the Real Driver that have the biggest impact on your blood sugar. If you only focus on the "sugar" line, you are only seeing a small fraction of what you are actually consuming.

Learn how to read and master the label.
Learn to look past "Added Sugars" and prioritize the grams of TOTAL carbs per serving.

Low carb pistachios cake 👉🏻

CAKE:
• 1 cup (120g) unsalted shelled and ground pistachios
• 120g Whole milk plain greek yogurt
• 3 large eggs
• 1.5 tbsp allulose
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp lime juice
• 60g almond flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• a pinch of salt

Mix all wet ingredients- then add dry ingredients - Mix well until smooth - Bake for 20-30min at 350.F (check using toothpick method)

CREAM
• 4z of mascarpone (optional if you want it to be thicker)
• 150ml whipping cream
Whisk them together
