Today we said goodbye to a truely great love in our lives ❤️‍🩹

I can say with all my heart that we truely did mum’s radiance and beauty justice today.

There are so many aspects to this process that have such heavy, sad connotations - Mum’s funeral absolutely being one of them.

What eventuated today though, was an opportunity to celebrate and share in her brilliance. As a mum, but also as a friend, sister and colleague.

What a complete and utter privilege today was.

Here is a little snapshot ✨

I really bloody dreaded this part. Sending love to the parents out there juggling more than just their own grief 💔

That afternoon I bought ‘The Invisible String’ to read to my girls. I highly recommend ❤️‍🩹

Weekend wrap 🏃‍♂️🙌🏻

1. Love an unexpected 20 minute fireworks show that made me smile so hard the entire time that my jaw hurt. I soaked every ache in as it happened because the good moments have to be savoured ✌️

2. View of the starting line for the Melbourne Marathon, where we screamed “Go Daddy!” way too loud for 6:30am

3. The man smiles while running his first marathon 😮

4. Waiting…

5 & 6. No more waiting. The longer I parent, the more I realise that so much of it is about showing our girls what it is to commit to a goal, show love for what we do and give every effort we have. did this from the moment he turned to me 14 months ago and said he wanted to run a marathon. Amazing.

Two things can exist.

Sleep issues can be transient, random and often come down to factors brain development, growth etc.

Being told that might actually be the opposite of what’s needed in the depths of sleep deprivation.

In fact, for me - being told “it’s just a phase!” was like nails down a chalk board after about 8.5 months of it ‘just being a phase’ 🥴

I needed someone to say - you know what, I SEE YOU! That’s totally and utterly sh*t that you went through that last night (or for the past month lol).

The truth is, we just want to feel really bloody understood for the hard, foggy, brain working at 5% capacity times - and at times held through it as well ❤️

Share this with a friend so they know you get it too 😶‍🌫️

It’s been a little while since I’ve spoken about mum, the juggle and generally life. Here’s a little update ❤️

- 2025 is a perpetual experience of taking it one day at a time. For those who don’t know, my gorgeous incredible mum was diagnosed with incurable and aggressive brain cancer in Jan. At the time she was so keen for me to use this platform to talk about the lived experience of early parenthood and having the juggle of mum’s journey.

As things have progressed, the silver linings that I spoke about so often at the start of the year have become more nuanced. Less easy to explain.

The breathlessness of how hard some days feel, leaves me lost for words about how to convey so many feelings in a 3 min video. There will be a time I can do that, but now it just feels too raw and honestly physically painful - I’m sure that this alone will resonate with some of you 💔

- I’ve officially resigned from my workplace and have moved to a casual role! This is giving me so much more freedom to be able to be more present to care for mum. It also means that my Safe Hands work doesn’t need to take as much of a back seat anymore ✨

- Sleep deprivation HIT HARD two weeks ago, with everyone being unwell with an awful virus (I swear my throat hasn’t been that sore since the glandular fever I was lucky enough to get 6 weeks after I became a mum for the first time)

- I’ve FULLY revamped our app! It’s now Safe Hands Parenting which is way easier for you guys to remember (and recommend!!). There are BIG things in store when it comes to my SH work ☺️ - as a one-woman business I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions for the app!

- Puzzles have been a great way of zoning out and getting some R&R that doesn’t involve staring at a screen. 10/10 recommend.

- Feeling Balanced by is such a winner this week!! Absolutely obsessed (especially the last page which features a mirror with affirmations to read to our girls 😭)

- Cathartic fridge clear out/reminder that most fridges look absolutely f-ed and then once a year they look like the second pic 😂

- Today was one of those days where I needed reminding that rainbows exist. How lucky are we 🌦️

Here’s what happened 👇🏻

On Tuesday, Dr. Elise Turner, was asked to leave Virgin Australia’s Melbourne airport lounge for expressing breastmilk for her twins. She was told that she was making ‘men feel uncomfortable’ and directed to express in the bathroom 😡

✅ You have the right to feed or express anywhere you are legally allowed to be.
✅ Businesses must not treat you unfairly or ask you to leave for feeding/expressing.
✅ You cannot be directed to a bathroom - this is not a reasonable alternative.

Training is needed for staff, to support parents of young children.
Stronger culture to support women is a must.
Support for feeding a baby, regardless of what that looks like, is a non-negotiable.

More details here! 👇🏻

If there is one thing I want you to know about me - I bloody love a life-hack. So! Here are some of my faves, that genuinely keep me feeling lighter and more capable of the juggle 👌

None of this is sponsored in any way btw. If you want any details of any of the things mentioned then DM me and I’ll be happy to point you in the right hack-direction!!

1. We started getting our meal box in 2020 when the depths of the lockdowns were killing my soul (kind of literally tbh). It’s been such a great way to reduce our mental load ever since, we’ve never considered ending it! I have a referral code for the company we use - they’re fab! DM me ✨

2. Delay-end on the washing machine = just before going to bed we put a load ‘on’ but program it to end just before we wake up. This way, it feels SO DAMN productive to get up and already have one load of washing ready to be hung out!

3. Which brings me onto our dehumidifier which allows for 2-3 loads to be dry in a day if needed, amazing for winter etc etc

4. Apps: ChatGPT and Google Keep are fab 👌 Thrive Parenthood makes using both so simple - ready to go Ai prompts (so you can plan a birthday in under 10 mins etc), interactive checklists to then share with your partner for day-to-day things, weekend away, GP visit etc

5. We’ve just changed electricity provider to one who offers free electricity between 11-2 🙌🏻💡 - this means I can run the dehumidifier, the second load of washing, our dishwasher etc all for free 😱 DM me if you want the provider details!

6. If you have those Ryobi One tools in your garage already, then this is an AMAZING hack for your handheld Dyson! You can buy an adapter that allows you to use the Ryobi batteries (which generally last ALOT longer) instead of the built-in Dyson one. It’s literally meant that we didn’t have to buy a whole new vacuum ❤️

Let me know your fave hacks in the comments!
