Hypnosis is a naturally occurring, profoundly relaxed, yet alert state of mind, where your conscious mind (logical, critical and thinking) mind takes a break, and your unconscious mind (feelings, imagination and memories) takes charge. When this happens, you're in a more receptive state to accept new suggestions, learnings and perspectives - which can help reprogram old beliefs, banish bad habits and even heal physical ailments caused by your unconscious mind, which in turn affects your conscious day-to-day actions and activities. Often, we can consciously identify and describe what the problem and its symptoms are - and even pinpoint the appropriate practical solution! So why don’t we just take action to fix our behaviours? The root of the problem is emotional disturbance or hurt, which is ultimately fear. Trying to fix an emotional problem with a logical explanation is using the wrong tool - it's like using a ruler to measure temperature. Hypnotherapy is when a hypnotherapist guides you to use hypnosis to solve your challenge or issue. Treatment sessions may involve a formal trance induction (where you may close your eyes and pretend to 'sleep' but be fully conscious and aware, and able to speak or move) or it might just be a pleasant conversation that feels a little bit like a daydream. Everyone's experience is unique, and perfectly appropriate for them. At the very least, you'll experience a calming and peaceful sensation or relaxation. Clients have reported resting or sleeping fully and deeply, and awakening feeling relieved and excited for life - with no logical explanation as to why. You could reprogram your old habits, conquer old fears and anxieties, reconcile past grief and anger, heal your body, learn new skills, restore lost drive and motivation… and much more. In addition to formal trance guidance, I educate my clients on new ways to communicate and express themselves, or negotiate with themselves and others. Oftentimes, the root of many emotional problems can be traced to failure to communicate and negotiate effectively. Hypnosis to date has no documented negative side effects or long term adverse effects. If you disagree with the suggestions or instructions given to you in a session, you can always choose to ignore them - you won't be put under mind control or anything like that. I work with clients over a multiple hour/session Hypnotherapy Protocol, specifically tailored to the client's needs - I do not do single sessions. This may entails several hours split over a number of sessions, depending on your availability and the nature of the issue. It can be done over Zoom/video calls, or in-person. The goal of my Hypnotherapy Protocol is first to bring you back to a stable emotional baseline, and then to help teach new behaviours and skills to prevent relapse. DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a licensed medical or mental health practitioner. I cannot diagnose, or prescribe medicines, treatments or procedures. If at any point in the session, for any specific matters brought up in session, I feel that it is in your best interest to consult a GP or a physician, I will advise you to do so.
