While my heart goes out to autistic people and their families in the US as their leader spreads misinformation and hate, I could not help laughing when I saw this meme. The world is watching and united in support of autistic people, our dignity and our right to exist.

Now, THIS is good journalism. It’s superb science journalism. Kudos to the Associated Press.
Let’s be clear here. THERE IS NO SCIENCE LINKING TYLENOL WITH AUTISM.
NONE
NADA.

Launch Day! My book is out today. Let me know if you spot it in the wild at your local bookstore.

Thank you to MUP for believing in this book, to Kay Kerr for the endorsement, to all the autistic people who have shared their experiences with me, to the people who made my work life easier (and those who didn’t - you gave me something to write about), and to Jeff, Austin and Lincoln for being what matters.

Still recruiting, and particularly looking for autistic people over 60 years of age
ALT TEXT: Autism and ageing project
I am an autistic author who writes fiction and creative non-fiction about the autistic experience.
Autism and Ageing: Sharing Our Stories is an exploration of the experience of ageing as an autistic person, told through the stories of autistic people over 50 from diverse backgrounds, locations, and ways of life.
As autistic people enter the later decades of their lives they encounter a stunning lack of awareness of autism in healthcare, social care, and aged care. We are invisible, our needs are unknown and unmet, and our chances of autistic-affirming care are minimal. Your support for this project will enable the voices of older autistic Australians to be heard. It will enable our needs and concerns to be shared with those responsible for providing the services and supports we need as we age.
If you are an autistic person aged 50 or over and you are interested in participating in the Autism and Ageing: Sharing Our Stories Project, you can find out more or register your interest in participating via the links in the comments.
The Autism and Ageing Project is supported through the Australian Cultural Fund.

New Open Access article in Autism addresses the oversimplification that autistic people don't exercise because of physical limitations.
From the abstract:
Neuro-normative assumptions about autism and physical activity, the importance of trust and sensory sensitivities shaped PA participation for these autistic adults. The new concept of neuro-normative assumptions highlights how pervasive assumptions were damaging, made it difficult to build trust and decreased physical activity participation.

Physical activity (PA) participation among autistic adults is low; however, it is unclear why this is the case. To date, little research has included the perspe...
