Our director and senior Occupational Therapist Sophie is currently taking a short break for maternity leave. Our wonderful team of Occupational Therapists continue to service our clients during this time. We thank you for your patience as we navigate what has been a busy couple of months working in the aged care sector and managing changes within our team.
We hope everyone is staying well and we look forward to many exciting times in the second half of 2025.

As you have likely heard, the federal government has delayed the upcoming aged care reforms until the 1st of November 2025.

The new support at home program was scheduled to replace home care packages on the 1st of July 2025 but it has now been pushed back to enable the sector further time to prepare for the changes.

For the time being, it is business as usual for all of us at Better Life Occupational Therapy. We continue to offer mobile Occupational Therapy services, providing personalised assessment and treatment tailored to our clients goals and needs. We are ensuring we remain up to date with all the changes to enable us to continue to deliver the care we are so passionate about.

Having just celebrated International Women’s Day we thought it was a good time to introduce Tess. Tess has been working with the team at Better Life Occupational Therapy since September last year when she returned to Victoria after working as a senior acute Occupational Therapist in New South Wales. We are very lucky to have Tess assisting our clients. As per OT Australia, women make up an impressive 89.2% of the OT profession. Here at Better Life Occupational Therapy we would like to recognise our team (who are all women) who continuously demonstrate their commitment to making a difference to the lives of their clients.

We are back for 2025 and looking forward to what is set to be a big year for us and our clients. From 1 July 2025, Support at Home will replace the existing Home Care Packages (HCP) Program and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) Programme. We are staying up to date with the latest information and our focus continues to be providing exceptional services to the aging population. We do not service clients under the NDIS as our passion and experience is in the aged care sector. Here at Better Life OT we are very lucky to have such a wonderful, passionate group of OT’s who all deserve to be recognised for the hard work that they do. It is the middle of OT week and great timing to welcome our newest Occupational Therapist Jo.
Jo has worked as a senior Occupational Therapist in adult rehabilitation and has a passion for helping people, in particular assisting people to be independent in their homes.
​She has expertise in home modifications, upper limb therapy, functional transfers and task retraining, compensatory strategies, equipment and wheelchair prescription and pressure care.

There has been lots happening at Better Life Occupational Therapy in 2023. We have welcomed Louise to the team. Louise has several years experience as an Occupational Therapist in the aged care sector and most recently worked in the transitional care program. Louise is passionate about intervention with the elderly population and clients love her warm and friendly approach to her work.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas. We will be closing on Thursday the 29th of December and reopening on Monday the 9th of January. We are looking forward to a busy year helping our clients in 2023.

Happy Occupational Therapy week to all the wonderful Occupational Therapists. We thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce Sophie. Sophie is the Founder, Director & Senior Occupational Therapist at Better Life Occupational Therapy. Sophie has spent the last seven years working in private adult rehabilitation and prior to this was working in the aged care sector. She is passionate about helping people and improving their quality of life. This is what inspired the name behind the business “Better Life” Occupational Therapy.
​Sophie is experienced in assisting the elderly population to remain living safely at home. She works with individuals, their families, and carers to determine an individual’s specific goals and what is important to them. Whether it be improving transfers in and out of the shower or using equipment to improve one’s ability to complete a task.
