After months of cold, dry air, it’s normal for skin to feel a little tight or sensitive. As the weather warms up, a few small changes can make a big difference:

- Switch to a lighter moisturiser if your winter cream now feels too heavy.
- Be gentle if you get eczema or allergy rashes. Fragrance-free products are your friend.
- Start using sunscreen daily (yes, even on cloudy spring days). It’s one of the best ways to protect your skin long term.

If you’re not sure what’s right for your skin, pop in for a chat. We’re here to help you find something simple, effective, and tailored to you.

If you use a cortisone nasal spray for hayfever or sinus symptoms, try using a saline spray first.

This is because saline helps rinse away pollen, dust, and mucus. It clears the way so your cortisone spray can work more effectively. As an added benefit, it keeps your nose hydrated and comfortable, especially during spring allergy season

Think of saline as the gentle “prep step” that helps your main treatment do its job.

Not sure which spray is right for you, or how to use them together? Ask one of our pharmacists and we’ll walk you through it.

It’s not just your wardrobe and pantry that deserve a spring clean. Your medicine cabinet does too!

- Check expiry dates on all medicines, including pain relief, creams, puffers, and vitamins. Expired medicines may not work as well, or could even be unsafe.
- Dispose safely. Never throw medicines in the bin or down the sink. Bring them to us and we’ll dispose of them responsibly through the Return Unwanted Medicines program.
- Organise your first-aid kit so you’re ready for the season ahead. Think antiseptic cream, bandages, and updated pain relief.

Our pharmacists are here to help you review what’s in your medicine cabinet and make sure you’re stocked with what you actually need this spring.

Did you know that pollen levels in spring can trigger asthma flare-ups? That’s why it’s important to make sure your puffer prescriptions are up to date and filled. Having your medication on hand gives you peace of mind and ensures you’re protected when symptoms strike.
Using a spacer with your puffer isn’t just for kids. It helps the medicine reach your lungs more effectively, reduces irritation in your mouth and throat, and makes each dose more reliable.

If you’re not sure whether you’re using your inhaler correctly, or if a spacer could help, come in for a chat with one of our pharmacists.

In Melbourne, rising pollen levels at this time of year often lead to hay fever symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, congestion, and fatigue. Starting your allergy management plan before symptoms begin can significantly reduce their impact.

A few simple ways to get ahead of hay fever:
- Begin preventer treatments (like certain nasal sprays) early.
- Keep an eye on daily pollen forecasts.
- Ensure your medications are ready so you’re not caught off guard when pollen levels rise.

If allergies have made past Springs difficult, now is the perfect time to prepare. Our pharmacists are here to help with personalised advice, so you can step into the new season feeling more comfortable.

1 in 3 Victorians have low vitamin D levels, and the numbers are even higher in Winter. With less sunlight this time of year, our bodies may not make enough vitamin D. Low levels can show up in different ways, including:
- Fatigue or low energy
- Muscle aches or weakness
- Low mood
- Increased risk of bone or joint issues

If you’ve been feeling a little “flat” this winter, vitamin D could be part of the picture.

Our pharmacists are here for a friendly chat. Vitamin D comes in many forms. We can help you understand your options and find what’s right for you.

It’s been especially cold and dry in Melbourne lately, and your skin might be feeling it. Chilly air and indoor heating can strip away moisture, leaving skin dry, itchy or tight.

If you're noticing changes to your skin this winter, you're not alone. This time of year can be especially harsh, particularly for hands, lips, and sensitive areas.

One gentle, nourishing option we often recommend is Weleda. Their products are rich in natural ingredients and designed to soothe and restore the skin barrier, without harsh additives.

Come in and chat with us if your skin’s not coping with the weather. We're always here to help you find something that suits your needs.
