Sl*t and R@pe Shaming MUST STOP
This abhorrent and deeply disturbing attitude is embedded in our collective subconscious, it is killing our sisters, it is holding us down and suffocating us in shame. It must be acknowledged, it is beyond time for change. Victim-blaming creates space for women who experience s*xual violence to believe that they did something wrong. There is no instance where it is acceptable to blame the victim, not ever. When you get violated by words, thoughts, looks, gestures and/or actions, you have been wronged - it is is their shame not yours. This is societal conditioning, this is societal shame.
You have full rights to your body, to your yes and no - your body is yours to enjoy, explore, adore, touch, share and love. A woman who owns her s*xuality, who explores it and engages in consensual s*x for her pleasure, fun or work is nothing to be ashamed of, in fact it deserves to be celebrated.
There is a new truth that waits for you to claim it, own it, celebrate it. A life beyond what has happened to you. Never let anyone else’s story for you define you - it’s time to reclaim your sovereignty as a s3xual, sensual, powerful woman. Write the next chapter - your way.
Change starts with you, though your reclamation, transformation and awakening. As we change our inner world, our outer world must respond. In this way we get to release ourselves from being victims and become empowered warriors for change.
