✅ 3 Minute Huddle - Stop using these four words…

💣 WARNING: Incoming, mini-rant! 😉

Let’s talk about why under-servicing is just as detrimental as over-servicing!

**DISCLAIMER: This could be considered as a super rant and I’m totally ok with that too.

Our role as practitioners is to be their trusted advisors NOT their financial advisors. So many times I see practitioners reluctant to rebook due to their own limiting beliefs with money.

Patients pay us to support them in what they need NOT for us to ask them what they want. We didn’t study for 4-5 years so we can say ‘See how you go…’ at the end of a consult.

It is our responsibility to guide clients** through the most appropriate management plan for the best possible outcome. If that means 6 visits over 4 weeks, so be it. Yes we must be empathetic to people’s financial situation — of course — but expecting the same outcome by conforming to a dictated budget is insane.

‘See how you go’ is a phrase that has been banned in our clinics for over a decade.

❌ It lacks leadership and education.

❌ It does not reflect or promote confidence.

❌ It delivers zero prognosis.

❌ It is totally subjective.

❌ It has no clear action, treatment plan or goals.

‘See how you go...’

For how long?
In regards to what?
Until what happens?
Then what?

(I’m getting all worked up now…) 😡😂

Rebooking a patient is not a sales-pitch.

A clear and concise treatment plan is NOT a money grab.

It is what we are trained to do.

It is what we are paid to do!

It is knowing exactly what the plan will be and delivering it with conviction.

If you are not confident in the next steps, how can your patient be confident in you?! 🤯

STOP saying ‘See how you go.’ Please. 🙏🏻

**IMPORTANT NOTE: I use the term ‘client’ because that is what they are. We are in private practice offering a service that ends with a financial transaction. The sooner we respect patients as our clients the greater the opportunity we have to value their money and their time. But that’s a rant for another day… 😝
