Stress is normal, but feeling stressed all the time can take a toll on your mental health and wellbeing.

Sometimes, it helps to get a gentle nudge to remind you of all the ways you can practice self-care and reduce your stress levels.

Here are some of our favorites in honor of !

1. Taking just 30 seconds to breathe can reset your nervous system and calm your stress.
2. Learn the tools to help you beat stress when it strikes
3. Move your body to move your stress. Take a short walk, stretch, or just shake it out. Literally.
4. Don’t rush through your tasks. There’s nothing to be gained by burning the candle at both ends…except burnout.
5. Prioritize getting good sleep. It’s nature’s stress reliever.
6. Don’t forget to drink water and eat nourishing foods. Dehydration and low blood sugar can make tough days even tougher.
7. Reach out to your support system when you need some TLC. You are not a burden on those you love. Tell them when you need them.
8. A little bit of mindfulness each day can go a long way to easing your stress and helping you feel more centered. Lean in.
9. If you're drowning in chronic stress, seek professional help from a healthcare provider. Your mental health matters.

MINDFUL LISTENING

This exercise is great for keeping your mind in the present moment and has the added benefit of feeling more connected to your family, friends and co-workers!

How to practice

When you enter a conversation today, take the opportunity to really switch off from any external stimuli and bring your mind to the present moment.

Listen quietly and intentionally to what the person in front of you is saying – look for cues where they’re looking for a response and where they’re looking to be heard.

Pay attention to their tone – do they sound energetic, frustrated, or sad?

Observe their body language – are they being open and expressive, or do they seem closed off, anxious or distant?

By tuning into both verbal and non-verbal messages, you’ll be able to participate in a more fulfilling way.
