North Brighton Medical encourages all patients aged over 18 to consider getting vaccinated at a government hub as soon as possible.

From tomorrow, Victorians aged 18 to 39 who give a doctor their informed consent will be able to get the AstraZeneca vaccine in nine of our state-run clinics.

Since the start of this thing we've known that the only way out is for all of us to get vaccinated.

The faster we get there, the faster we can put lockdowns behind us for good.

It's really as simple as that.

From 11:59pm Thursday 27 May:
New changes have been introduced to slow the spread of COVID-19 by reducing the number of people leaving their homes and moving around Victoria.

This means that you cannot leave your home unless you are doing it for one of the five following reasons:
▪️ shopping for necessary goods and services
▪️ care and caregiving
▪️ exercise
▪️ authorised work and permitted study
▪️ to get a COVID-19 vaccination.

Victorians may also leave home to visit their intimate partner, their single social bubble buddy, or in an emergency – including those at risk of family violence.

As of 11:59pm Thursday 27 May, you will be required to remain wherever you stay that night. There will be exemptions for some situations, including authorised work, medical care and compassionate reasons.

You must stay within 5km of your home for shopping and exercise. This limit does not apply to authorised work, when giving or receiving care, getting a COVID-19 vaccination or visiting an intimate partner or your single social bubble buddy.

Face masks must be worn indoors and outdoors whenever you leave your home.

Face masks do not need to be worn indoors or outdoors if you are working alone.

You can leave your home in an emergency or if there is family violence.

These actions will protect our loved ones, friends, colleagues, health care workers and the community.

People seated in Zone 4, Level 1 – those with a bay between M1 and M16 on their match ticket – will be contacted directly with advice to get tested and isolate until negative. See map: https://www.mcg.org.au/_/media/files/shared/mcc00546--afl-2021-mcg-arena-map-zones2.pdf?la=en

Further reviews of CCTV footage will be undertaken to determine if the advice to test and isolate will be broadened beyond this zone, and will be published online when confirmed. Some individuals with the closest contact to the positive case will be directly provided more specific advice from the Department of Health. Others attending the MCG not located in these areas will be advised to check for symptoms and be tested if any develop.

Is your child in Year 7 or 10?

With schools mostly operating remotely for the past few months, some kids might be overdue their scheduled immunisations.

These include vaccines for HPV, diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough for Year 7s, and meningococcal ACWY for Year 10s.

If so, you can book them in with our nurse Nicole to get these done at no cost. Give us a call on 03 8506 9949 to book.

Who knows, it might be something your kids look forward to, given they've probably run out of things to do these school holidays!
