Highly automated intelligent imaging system sets new standards in skin cancer diagnostics.
FotoFinder, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of medical imaging systems for dermatology, announces the introduction of the bodystudio ATBM master.
For the first time the system enables the use of Total Body Dermoscopy, a further development of the Automated Total Body Mapping (ATB®) technology. The core of the system is the intelligent interaction of hardware, camera technology and special software.
The FotoFinder bodystudio ATBM master is versatile: In addition to the platform for skin cancer diagnostics, the device offers optional modules for hair diagnostics, aesthetics as well as for the management of psoriasis patients using the PASIscan.
FotoFinder is leading the way in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the technology for early skin cancer detection.
A new dimension in the “whole skin” follow-up of multiple mole patients
The FotoFinder bodystudio ATBM master offers optimized skin cancer diagnostics in the form of Total Body Dermoscopy. With the help of extremely high-resolution (50 megapixels), polarized and specially processed full body photos (RAW format), the structure of skin lesions can already be evaluated by the physician based on a clinical image.
In addition, high-quality video dermatoscopes allow an even deeper visual journey into the smallest cell structures of the skin – with up to 400x magnification. No wonder that the term
“Google EarthTM of the skin” is used here. The integrated fully automated Bodyscan technology identifies the existing skin lesions out of the total body image and arranges them
according to their relevance. This enables the physician to identify atypical moles or lesions– the “ugly duckling sign” – that are different from the others at first glance. Modern encryption technologies and a new user administration also ensure data protection-compliant work and the protection of sensitive patient data.
The earliest possible diagnosis saves lives
“FotoFinder is a pioneer in artificial intelligence in the field of skin cancer diagnostics. The FotoFinder bodystudio ATBM master uses the powerful FotoFinder AI once again. For high-risk patients, the early detection of malignant skin tumours means a potentially vital gain in time,” explains Kathrin Niemela, member of the FotoFinder management board. “With the
new FotoFinder bodystudio ATBM master generation, a complete, consistent and extremely high-resolution documentation of the skin is possible twice as fast as with the predecessor
model. Thanks to a new workflow, conspicuous, new and changed moles can be diagnosed much faster and more precisely than before, which particularly simplifies the management of
high-risk patients”.
Artificial Intelligence meets human experience
The AI-based expert software Moleanalyzer pro supports the physicians in the analysis and risk assessment of skin lesions. The system is based on one of the most powerful deep
learning algorithms that have been evaluated in clinical tests so far. In the “Man against Machine”* study conducted at the University Hospital of Heidelberg, the FotoFinder algorithm achieved impressively high scores for sensitivity and specificity and can compete with experienced dermoscopy experts in terms of its diagnostic accuracy.
