Learn Traditional Somali Weaving with local Somali residents. FREE & everyone is welcome!

Fridays at the Community Grocer Market
Carlton Social Housing Public Space, Melbourne

I took part today and, though for a moment we thought the wind was going to launch the shelter the weavers were creating into the air, it was a wonderful morning - come along!

Each week you will learn a new style of weaving with diverse materials from wood frame, to grass to recycled cloth and connect with a community of diverse and talented traditional artists and local residents.

January 25th – March 01, 2019.
10am-12 each Friday.
FREE. Materials supplied (though if you have yarn scraps to contribute they'd be welcome)
(extension of Drummond St. Carlton – map available on request)
Please register your participation by contacting Leisa Shelton LEISA at – fragment31@gmail.com.

Places are limited so please contact us to secure your place asap.
