A New South Wales man, Peter, had no idea a check-up on his feet would lead to life-saving heart surgery. “It was kind of like winning the medical lottery,” he said.

A crack on Peter’s foot that wasn’t healing raised a red flag with his podiatrist, prompting further investigations, revealing Peter was a ticking time bomb.
