Did you know that in 2023, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare estimated there were at least 140,900 unpaid carers of people living with dementia who live in the community. Providing care or support for a loved one is rewarding, but it can also be both physically and emotionally demanding.

Having an understanding of what changes are happening in the brain for a person living with dementia can assist carers to be able to continue to successfully provide support. Having this knowledge along with practical tips to support the person experiencing the changes can assist in reducing carer burden.

As a part of Dementia Awareness Week, Thrive are hosting a FREE webinar for carers of people living with dementia on Wednesday 18th September 7-8pm.

In this webinar, we will be talking about:
๐Ÿง  What brain changes occur and how these can affect a personโ€™s day to day abilities
๐Ÿง  Practical tips that carers can implement straight away to support and enable the person living with dementia
๐Ÿง Introduce the Positive Approach to Care where participants will learn how making some changes to our approach will allow us to be able to better support the person living with dementia

This session is suitable for anybody caring for a loved one living with dementia.

Home Care

The happiness and well-being of loved ones is vital. Families and friends do their best to support these people in their lives โ€“ especially when they experience old age, ill health, infirmity or disability.

Yet despite the best efforts, the demands of transport, medical appointments and hospital or residential care transitions can become hard to handle.

If this happens, you need someone you can trust. Someone who is:

  • Understanding โ€“ to appreciate your individual needs.
