Tiny Tasters Holiday social group this week —
🧑‍🍳Encouraging interaction with food in a no-pressure environment
🧑‍🍳Using responsive feeding values (autonomy, relationship, competence, intrinsic motivation, and holism).
🧑‍🍳Deconstructing wraps so each ingredient can be explored separately
🧑‍🍳Allowing the child to choose what to, how much to, and whether to eat
Why does this approach help?
🧑‍🍳Builds trust and autonomy around food choices
🧑‍🍳Reduces anxiety and sensory overwhelm by making unfamiliar foods more predictable
🧑‍🍳Encourages language development (e.g., naming, requesting, describing, sequencing)
🧑‍🍳Supports executive functioning (planning, turn-taking, following steps)
🧑‍🍳Fosters positive peer modelling and cooperative behaviour
🧑‍🍳Creates a safe context for trying (or simply being near) new foods

Lots of fun at our end of year Christmas party today - Gingerbread craft & sensory, water play & a fountain, D&D and Minecraft corners, snacks & cold drinks, Henna painting, and Facepaint & Giant bubbles with Renae from
