Plantar pressure mapping can be helpful in designing orthoses, offloading diabetic foot lesions, and identifying risk factors. Both these feet had very painful Morton’s neuroma and inter-metatarsal bursitis. With the use of plantar pressure mapping we’re able to design the most appropriate orthoses to help reduce neuroma pain.

Don’t let your ingrown toenails get out of hand! Often, ingrown toenails present after weeks or months of being present. It has always left me baffled as to why they are left for so long. Ingrown toenails can be treated swiftly, and often with minimal discomfort. There are also measures to stop the ingrown toenails all together! If this happens to you, make sure you see a podiatrist as soon as you can.

Why take your child to a podiatrist for foot concerns? Here is an example:
A little one presented with the parents over concerns of one flat foot. After history taking questions it was ascertained that there is concern over a neurological disorder - testing identified a healthy neurological development with normal reflexes, motor control and planning. Assessment of the foot and joint range of motion identified restricted motion in the rear foot. A tarsal coalition was suspected and confirmed via x-ray. The circled image is a talocalcaneal coalition. Note the lack of joint space in comparison to the third photo. Cause of flat foot solved and parents educated with their minds at ease! Only your podiatrist has enough training and knowledge to make the diagnosis.

Business as usual! This patient hit the home improvement projects hard during this self isolation which resulted in significant foot pain. In-house ultrasound was suspicious of a metatarsal stress fracture and x-ray confirmed it. Many things have been put to a halt but your foot pain has not. Visit us today!
