This weekend, I had the privilege of attending the annual RACS ASC Sydney 2025, where I reconnected with colleagues and felt revitalized.
I broadened my knowledge by attending sessions beyond innovations in Breast, Endocrine, and Melanoma management, including a leadership session and a captivating plenary session: AI in Clinical Practice - A New Hope or a Phantom Menace?
I was inspired by insightful presentations from leaders in AI, including Julian Smith, Adam Bridgeman, and Steve Wesselinghe. The resounding message was that AI is a powerful tool that is here to stay, but it's crucial we use it judiciously and maintain leadership.
As Professor Dame Sally Davies aptly put it, "In healthcare, you have to be struck by the power of digital technology-the Fourth Industrial Revolution-to totally change how we deliver healthcare." (and research)
The event concluded on a high note, as I was fortunate enough to win the Dorevitch raffle and took home a lovely bottle of red!.
