It's almost impossible to avoid heavy metals altogether. That's why it's crucial you know the best strategies for detoxifying your body.

Some everyday foods have the power to help detoxify your body through a process called chelation. This means that heavy metals bind to a substance in order to move through and exit your system.

Both garlic and turmeric have chelation abilities, and they also have the ability to turn up your body’s detoxification genes.

Other foods that support heavy metal detoxification include:

-Broccoli sprouts or broccoli microgreens

-Cilantro

-Cruciferous vegetables

**🌿 Wholefood Shepherd’s Pie That Nourishes From the Inside Out! 🙌🥔🥦**

Just made this *incredible* Shepherd’s Pie inspired by Gordon Ramsay, but with a *nutrient-packed, family-friendly twist*... and let me tell you — it’s not just delicious, it’s healing food the way God intendend🙏

💚 Instead of the usual mash, I boosted the nutrition by blending **cauliflower + silverbeet + potatoes** — the teens LOVED it. Creamy, comforting, and oh-so-satisfying!

🔥 This isn’t just comfort food — it’s *functional* food. Check out the minerals and benefits packed into this dish:

🧠 **Zinc** (beef + silverbeet) → supports immune & mental health
💪 **Iron** (beef + greens) → energy + oxygen delivery to muscles & brain
🦴 **Calcium & Magnesium** (greens + potatoes) → supports bones, mood, and stress regulation
🧂 **Potassium** (potatoes + cauliflower) → adrenal support + fluid balance
🧘‍♀️ **Sulfur** (cauliflower) → helps detox pathways & glowing skin
🌿 **Fibre** (veggies + mash) → supports digestion, gut health & balanced blood sugar

💥 Plus, it’s rich in protein + healthy fats, making it a blood-sugar-balancing *power meal* that helps stabilize energy, reduce mood swings and support growing teens + busy parents alike.

✨ This is what I call Nutritional Alchemy — turning everyday meals into tools for vibrant health, healing and happy bellies!

👩‍🍳 Want more simple, delicious wholefood recipes like this that your whole family will love (and that nourish your gut, mind & body)? Stick around! 🙋‍♀️

You may have heard of the “Dirty Dozen” – the list of produce with the highest levels of pesticides. But what about the “Clean Fifteen”?

These fruits and vegetables are shown to have the lowest pesticide residues, even when grown conventionally.

🌿 Feeling Constantly Tired? Let’s Fix That. 🌿

Low energy and constant fatigue aren’t just part of getting older or “being busy” — it’s your body asking for help. 😴

As a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I help clients get to the root of their fatigue so they can reclaim their energy and feel like themselves again.

Here are 3 quick but powerful steps you can take today to start boosting your energy naturally:

✨ 1. Balance Your Blood Sugar
Energy crashes often stem from unstable blood sugar. Focus on meals that include protein, healthy fats, and fiber-rich carbs — no more cereal-only
breakfasts!

💧 2. Hydrate (The Right Way)
Even mild dehydration can drain your energy. Add a pinch of sea salt or electrolytes to your water for better absorption and cell hydration.

😴 3. Prioritize Restorative Sleep
Aim for 7–9 hours of uninterrupted sleep in a dark, cool room. Try limiting screens 1 hour before bed to support natural melatonin production.

Energy is not a luxury — it’s essential so you can handle the demands of life and feel better.

We’ve been taught to outsource our health—relying on quick fixes and 7-minute appointments.

But your body holds a deeper wisdom.

When you slow down, listen, and support it well, healing begins to happen—because your body was made to restore itself.

Let’s get back to that.

Another fabulous and easy slow cooker recipe - this time it’s vegetarian bean chilli.

🔸 Sauté some peppers, onion and garlic.
🔸 Add your spices (paprika, cumin, coriander and oregano) and sauté a few extra minutes.
🔸 Add in required number of canned black beans ( I use 4 for a family of 5)
🔸 Mix in 1/2 cup water and a can of chopped tomatoes.
🔸 Cover with the lid and cook for 3-4 hrs on high.

I sometimes add in spinach and/or zucchini to level up the vegetables content.

Serve with homemade or store purchases tortillas, lettuce, grated cheese, sour cream or whatever other toppings you like.

Super easy, nutritious and such a time saver in the kitchen. Enjoy 😋

Following on from my last post about minerals to create energy and vitality. Here are some excellent mineral rich foods that should be part of your diet if you are looking to zap your fatigue !

The energy stored in food in the form of fats, protein, and carbohydrates gets combined with oxygen in the tiny little factories inside your cells called mitochondria.

The food and oxygen then produce the form of energy used by our bodies called ATP. It powers everything. Once we stop producing energy, we die.

Some foods burn clean, while others create a lot of exhaust that damages our tissues and cells and produces free radicals that cause oxidation (similar to rusting) and inflammation. Our bodies produce their own antioxidants to protect us from this damage. When we overeat processed foods, our antioxidant systems can’t keep up.

To make energy from food and oxygen, the assembly line in your mitochondria needs specific vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients: B vitamins, coenzyme Q10, carnitine, zinc, magnesium, selenium, omega-3 fats, lipoic acid, N-acetylcysteine, vitamin E, vitamin K, sulfur, and others.

Our modern nutrient-depleted diet provides very few of these mitochondrial boosters. The simplest way to change this is to make sure to diet that consists of real, whole foods. And bonus points if you include the foods listed above that are full of the nutrients needed to keep producing mitochondria.

⚡💎 Are you looking for a natural way to boost your energy levels and promote overall well-being? Then perhaps you need to consider mineral balancing🌟✨

Mineral balancing works on ensuring we have the right amounts of critical minerals in our body to fuel our mitochondria to produce E N E R G Y and promote vitality.
I use Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) to monitor your mineral levels and physiologocal functions such as digestion, detox, immunity, hormones, adrenal health and much much more.

Why are minerals so important to energy levels ? Well read on .....

1️⃣ Minerals and Energy: Minerals are not only essential for physical health but also for the proper functioning of our energy systems. They help support energy production at a cellular level. By maintaining a balanced mineral intake, we can optimize our energy levels and vitality! 💪🔋

2️⃣ Mineral Deficiencies and Fatigue: Imbalances or deficiencies in certain minerals can lead to fatigue, sluggishness, and a lack of energy. For example, low levels of magnesium can contribute to feelings of tiredness and low energy. By identifying and addressing these deficiencies, we can regain our energy and zest for life! 🥦🍳

3️⃣ Mineral-Rich Foods: One way to achieve energy and mineral balancing is by incorporating mineral-rich foods into our diet. Leafy greens, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and lean meats are excellent sources of essential minerals like magnesium, iron, zinc, and potassium. Including these foods in our meals can help replenish our mineral stores and revitalize our energy! 🥗🍎🍗

4️⃣ Seeking Professional Support: It's important to consult with a qualified practitioner to assess your specific needs. They can help identify any mineral imbalances and guide you on the appropriate diet or supplementation plan tailored to your unique requirements. 🩺👩‍⚕️

Mineral balancing can help unlock our full potential, improve vitality and promote overall well-being. Let's embark on this journey towards optimal energy levels together! 🚀💫

Share this post with your friends and family to spread awareness about the benefits of energy and mineral balancing. Let's empower each other to live our lives with vibrant energy and vitality! 💥🌈

One of my favourite recipes to make the night before. Love that you can control the amount of sugar by how much maple syrup you drizzle on top.
My substitutions to healthify it:
🔹 Use spelt or gluten free flour
🔹 Add berries to it before or after cooking (I add frozen berries before cooking)

So delicious - enjoy 😋😋

These are the absolute best german pancakes recipe. Six simple ingredients, five minutes to prepare, and a sure family favorite!

🌿💪 Did you know that sodium plays a vital role in supporting our adrenal glands? 🌟✨ These small but mighty glands are responsible for producing hormones that help our bodies respond to stress and maintain optimal energy levels. 🌱🔬 Sodium is essential for proper adrenal function as it helps regulate fluid balance, blood pressure, and electrolyte levels. 💦⚡️ So, next time you reach for that pinch of salt, remember that it's not just about flavor – it's about supporting your adrenal health too! 🌟💡
