Our glasses are an everyday tool, so the cleaning routine matters. Save this for the next time lenses look smudgy or streaky, and avoid the common habits that quietly scratch coatings.

Even on days that feel mild, UV is still doing its thing. Sunglasses are eye protection, not just a style choice. Pop them on whenever it’s bright, and keep them on for the whole time you’re outside.

Polarised sunglasses are designed to reduce glare from reflected light, which can make driving and outdoor vision feel clearer and less fatiguing. Regular sunglasses mainly reduce brightness.

The key optometrist tip: polarisation and UV protection are not the same thing. Choose sunglasses with proper UV protection and an appropriate Australian lens category for your day to day use, then add polarisation if glare is an issue for you.

If you’re unsure what your current sunglasses are doing, bring them into the practice and we can sanity check them.

If you’ve been told you might have keratoconus, the first appointment can feel like a lot, but it’s designed to be simple and informative. We start with a chat about your vision and history, then capture detailed corneal measurements and run a few vision tests so we can understand exactly what’s going on. You’ll leave with a clear explanation of your results and a plan tailored to you.

To book a keratoconus assessment at Vision Camberwell, get in touch via our website or call the practice.

If your screen is living too close to your face, your eyes are doing extra work all day.

A simple rule:
Phone at a comfortable reading distance, not tucked under your nose.
Laptop at about arm’s length, with the top of the screen around eye level.

If you’re getting headaches, eye strain, blur that comes and goes, or tired eyes after work or school, it’s worth checking your screen habits.
