Why should we do the Phatt Program ? What do we need to do to understand about our body . โค๏ธโค๏ธ
There are two primary female hormones created by the ovaries: Estrogen and Progesterone.
When you have lower but stable levels of both.
This is the hallmark of early Menopause.
Now I know youโre familiar with the term menopause, but you may not know exactly what that means for your body.
Hereโs a good way to think about it.
When you were younger, your menstrual cycle was a lot like a see-saw.
Balanced See Saw
Imagine a little girl in a pink dress on one side. Thatโs estrogen.
And another little girl in a blue dress on the other side. Thatโs progesterone.
In young women, they both happily move up and down in a well-balanced routine.
With Ovarian Fatigue, imagine these two girls have been playing for a long timeโฆ
Eventually, they both start getting tired.
Progesterone wears out first, and for a while, estrogen jumps up and down as hard as she can to make up the difference.
But over time, estrogen calms down and the see-saw slows almost to a halt.
This is exactly the way to think about what happens in your body. The aging metabolic system has depleted both estrogen and progesterone.
These hormones interact with cellular receptors all over the body.
For example, estrogen and progesterone help stabilize brain chemistryโฆ
When a women doesnโt have either one working at full strength, she can feel unfocused and unhappy, and she may have problems sleeping.
These hormones also help keep insulin in check. Insulin is the most influential female fat storing hormone.
So without enough of these hormones, every bite of food is more likely to end up as belly fat.
Making matters worse, estrogen and progesterone act like a shield, protecting women from stress.
Thatโs important because too much of the stress hormone cortisol breaks down muscle tissue.
So when estrogen and progesterone wear out, women can quickly end up with more fat and less muscle.
Thatโs a bad combination.
It means with Ovarian Fatigue, a womanโs weight may or may not change, but her body shape definitely does.
And a women at this stage often ends up with the dreaded โmenopause belly.โ
Her curves start disappearing and she appears more โblockyโ.
Luckily, we know that diet plays an important role in our health and our body shape . Taking back control of our hormones is paramount for each of us to live long and healthy lives .
