Winter is here!
The cold and darkness of winter urges us to slow down, replenish our energy and reserve our strength.
Winter is ruled by the water element, which is associated with the kidneys (and adrenal glands) and bladder. The kidneys are the source of Qi within the body, and stores the reserve Qi for use in times of stress or change.
During winter emphasise warming foods in your diet such as soups, casseroles, beans, miso and seaweed, and herbs such as garlic and ginger to add extra warmth to your food and your body.
