For our latest Long Service Legend, we want to give a HUGE shout-out to Claire, who’s been with us since 2021!

Claire joined us as a temp admin and quickly found herself drawn into the world of NDIS. When a full-time position opened up, she took the leap — and three years later, she’s now one of our valued NDIS Relationship Partners.

“I kind of fell into NDIS,” Claire laughs. “I had a lot of support from the rostering team — I got thrown in at the deep end, but I really enjoyed the challenge.”

Before working with NDIS participants, Claire helped her husband run the family construction business, giving her the grit, communication skills and resilience she brings to her role today.

“I put in a lot of work to communicate and listen to people. I found that building a rapport with clients was so important, as well as having patience and empathy…”

“Well, I had plenty of patience — I put up with my husband for a long time!”

One experience really stands out for Claire.

“We had a client who had a really rough period and was suffering with their mental health — it was my first real crisis. We helped him move through it to a much better place. He had a lizard at home, and we went in every day to check on it, which made him feel so looked after and allowed him to focus on feeling better.”

When she’s not working, you’ll find Claire playing golf, reading, or spending time with her horses. “I used to do eventing — it’s so calming to be out riding.”

And her advice for anyone new to care?

“Listen to your participants, lean on your team, and learn from the people around you.”

We wanted to share some lovely photos of our 24-hour client, Stephen, who’s now living in Melbourne’s South East with our full 24/7 support.

When Stephen first came home from hospital, he was unable to walk and needed significant help with his daily tasks.

With ongoing care, encouragement, and support from our team, he’s now thriving — independently engaging in his routines, rebuilding his confidence, and making incredible progress every day. 👏

These photos capture just how far he’s come, and it’s been so rewarding for everyone involved to see his journey unfold. 🥰

This will help more older Australians access the support they need – and it comes ahead of the new Support at Home program launching in November.

We’ve been serving the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area for over 45 years – helping those in our community is at the very heart of everything we do.

So, when The Aged Care Events Community asked if we’d like to sponsor the rankston Aged Care Expo, it was a resounding YES!

It’s a fantastic local event that aims to connect carers, providers and older Australians needing support – all in one place.

We speak to people in the community everyday who have no idea how to navigate the Aged Care system, so it’s brilliant to see an event like this take place in our own backyard.

Meet Anton – one of our incredible clients who has shown that a love for life and good food can’t be stopped.

A few years ago, a stroke left Anton with limited mobility and unable to drive.

His Home Care Package allows Anton to get help with cleaning, shopping and one of his favourite pastimes – cooking.

Each Tuesday, Anton and his Support Worker Yvonne get together and plan out next weeks menu.

They get hands-on, making delicious soups, casseroles and even a bit of baking!

While the food is great, the best part is the chats, laughter, and stories they share along the way. Over time, they’ve built a wonderful rapport and a genuine bond.

Stories like this remind us how impactful the right care and Support Worker can be.

A big thank you to Anton for letting us share his story, and to Yvonne for the care, joy, and connection you bring to every client. 💚
