mISSkARA is a DJ, co-producer, dance music vocalist & the heart behind DANCE TRIBE & SOUND TRIBE
Bringing joy through music! Based in Melbourne VIC, mISSkARA enjoys playing a range of genres from house to techno music. She also blends her crafts of sound healing and ethereal singing into powerful live shamanic DJ sets in her side project “kARMANTRA”. It’s quite an interesting path that Kara has taken to end up being in Sound Healing and Music as a DJ, Vocalist and Songwriter. Her interest in Health and Healing began in high school which led her to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science Health Promotion at Deakin University in Melbourne. Kara also trained for 6 years as a vocalist under Frank Sita at the Stia School of music in South Yarra Melbourne. Kara now lives and performs across Melbourne and is often on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas for sound healing and DJ gigs. Kara has had a strong pull towards the sound healing and ethereal vocals arena for a number of years now and in 2020 this begun its reality with her first sound healing event appearances and private sound sessions...thus melding the health education and experience with her varied music skills,
In her workshops she will grace your ears with her vocal skills, bowls, drum, bells and channelled ethereal sounds so we are sure to revel in the softness and strength of her heart felt transmission. As a vocalist, she has performed at festivals including Rainbow Serpent VIC (2018), and Earth Frequency QLD (2019) with DJ Mickey Space. mISSkARA also performed at Elements Festival and Earth Frequency Festival in the opening ceremony and cabaret with her ethereal vocals, sound healing and dance. mISSkARA’s DJ career includes producing and DJ’ing at the popular Rabbits Eat Lettuce and Not Rabbits UV Glow Parties (2021). She also smashed the muddy dance floor of the Qld Burning Man event Modyfyre (2021) aka “MUDifyre” to the delight of muddy rain-soaked burners. More recently she has been whipping up a dance floor frenzy at various clubs and events across the East Coast such as Club KUCA Wonderland QLD, Lab Leaked Beats NSW, Mystic Valley NSW, Radonia QLD, Burning Seed NSW, ASTRA x JUMP VIC, and Temperance Chapel Street VIC, where she is a resident DJ. DJing at Confest NSW and the official Confest Decompression parties VIC are her latest festival and event highlights. She is now a frequent DJ for “Shhh…Events” Melbourne and will make her second appearance for the sell out events by the Mystic Valley crew in the Byron Bay Shire November 2024. Her debut single “Through the Forest” is a heart-opening melodic house track that was released in December 2023 and have gained over 7,000 streams and rising. “Through the Forest” was produced in collaboration with Melbourne-born, Bangkok-based producer ASHMACRO. The pair also released “You Are Not Alone” in January 2024 which is a deep tech track with few lyrics yet a deep message. mISSkARA has a bright future with plans to perform her powerful live shamanic vocal (under her alias kARMANTRA) and DJ sets at festivals across Australia and Europe, transcending joy and connection through the power of music. https://www.instagram.com/djmisskara
