As a health coach, one of my biggest successes has been teaching, guiding, supporting and empowering my own children.
To understand how to look after themselves, ✨ How to make healthy choices
✨ How to listen to their bodies, and learn when they've made a not so great choice how it makes them feel.
✨ How to chop, prepare and cook real food. They have all been up at the bench with me from babies and chopping with knives by at least 2yrs.
✨ I have always talked and shared stories about why it's important to eat well, eat fresh and make from scratch.
✨ I've shown them how to make healthy treats that taste delicious - and we have also baked with sugar and had treats that might not be so great to get a balanced feel for the real world.
I did used to be super, SUPER, strict with what they ate, and I saw how this rigidness backfired as they got older.
Finding BALANCE, along with a good understanding of food choices, and education from a young age is they key.
💗Fostering and allowing for a healthy relationship with food to blossom without the guilt of eating 'BAD' foods which can lead down a slippery slope.
These photos show some very proud moments which are all very recent. Without my pushing or forcing, my kids have made some pretty incredible meals and choices that they love.
We are our children's first teachers and role models.
Making pivotal decisions for our personal health as adults doesn't only benefit us, it inspires and teaches our kids too.
