Even though the yoga studios have closed as part of the social distancing measures to halt the spread of coronavirus, we hope that everybody still manages to practice some yoga at home. All you need is enough space to lay your mat full length. Reformer Pilates β Yoga on the Go and Valley of Ananda have prepared a video of Surya Namaskar for members to use for their home practice. Even though Surya Namaskar is usually practiced as a warming up sequence before class, it can be used as a balanced set of exercises, especially when practiced with deep breathing and over enough rounds. How many rounds are enough? That depends on how much time you have, but 12 will give you a good workout. The video presentation extends into variations of the warrior pose to open the hips after expectedly sitting down for long periods during the home isolation. Enjoy.
