It’s actually wild when you think about the placenta. Your body doesn’t just carry a baby, it literally builds an entire life-support system from scratch.

A brand new organ just for your baby. Connecting your blood supply to theirs, pulling oxygen and nutrients across, while filtering out what your baby doesn’t need. At the same time, your blood volume increases massively to keep everything flowing, your heart works harder, and your body adapts in ways you don’t even consciously notice.

It’s one of the most complex and intelligent things the human body can do, and you’re doing it without even thinking about it 🤰🏽

When birth happens that fast, your brain doesn’t get time to process what’s going on. You can go from “this is starting” to “baby is here” in minutes.

That can leave you feeling out of control, like your body took over and you weren’t fully there. Some women describe it as a blur, or like it happened to them, not with them. I have personally felt this experience with the birth of my second child.

Afterwards, it’s common to feel a bit shaken, emotional, or disconnected while your mind tries to catch up with what just happened.

Fast doesn’t mean easy. It still deserves to be talked through, understood, and supported 💟

What can’t the do?

Did you know you can use it to take the edge off those after birth cramps too… especially during feeds 😮‍💨

Pop it on your lower back or pelvis, and flick it into pain mode for when those cramps hits.

How are we here now? 😭

Years of daily texts and voice notes.
Cycle after cycle of IVF waiting for that positive test, to a little surprise miracle, and now pregnancy, birth, and postpartum together. So many tears along the way, but this time, they’re all happy ones.

Sharnelle, I’m beyond proud of you for never giving up on your dream. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey to Eve 🩷
