In fact, the clinic got off to such a great start that our Physio Eilís is absolutely exhausted and is ready to sleep for a week 🤗😴😆🥳!
It's been fantastic working with you all and I am very grateful that you trust me with your own health and well ebing as well as your best friends care 🙏.

💪🏻 Grind that floor 💪🏻
After a COVID enforced two week break from the physio studio to be, we are back in action!
Carpets 90% gone (thank goodness) and this weekend is all about the concrete grinder to clean it up.
Would you believe, the concrete grinder is revealing paw prints embedded in the concrete all throughout the clinic - this place was always meant to be a physio haven for animals!
As for COVID, don't get it if you can avoid it all. Mask up and stay safe. COVID absolutely knocked my socks off and certainly not in a good way. I think it'll be a few more weeks before I feel like my old self again!
The countdown has begun,
26 days or so until our underwater treadmill arrives and clinic due to open early September 🥳.
Next steps: get our paw and foot friendly flooring installed and finish those walls!

👣 A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step 👣
Building a home for our ÉRA Physio family:
🐎 Équestre Physiotherapy
👣 .physio
🐾 .physio
Feels like our 'project physio studio' has been in the works for years now, which to be honest, it has. We were almost ready to sign a lease in 2020 and along came COVID to put the breaks on life as we knew it.
Finally, after a very challenging few years for all, and despite new challenges (hello price of petrol and groceries!) popping up as we emerge from lockdowns and isolations, we have found our little studio and are finally moving forward whilst navigating all the tiny and sometimes (ok most of the time at the moment!) seemingly insurmountable challenges that a small business must navigate.
After a rocky few weeks waiting on a fit out company to do well, not very much unfortunately (first lesson learnt - very much the hard way!) we are making some headway.
I'm going to need my own physio after all of this but paint is now getting on those sad looking walls, horrible carpet is slowly but surely finding its way into the bin and slowly but surely we are figuring out how to make the rest fall into place.
Looking forward to having a wonderful physiotherapy studio in the outer east suburbs for human and small animal alike!

🤗 All the physio's in the house!
My colleague and dear friend Lynne reminded me this weekend that it has been 8 years since we did our PGDip Veterinary Physiotherapy placement together in Queensland - what a journey it has been since then!
It's an honour to have the opportunity to stand alongside these incredible women Lynne Horse & Rider Physiotherapy , Kath EquinePhysio NZ and Lesley Active Animal Physiotherapy who I have great admiration and respect for.
It's been many years of work for so many to get to this point, making the effort to get to these conferences to do our little bit to help improve awareness of the important role of the PROFESSION of Physiotherapy in the Veterinary industry in Australia.
Looking forward to the future of Animal Physiotherapy in Australia!

Hailing from Ireland, Eilís grew up in the countryside surrounded by animals, including her ever faithful Rough Collie, a multitude of feline companions, as well as Connemara ponies and even donkeys. Much to the dismay of her folks, Eilís 'caught the horse bug' at an early age, when a school friend introduced Eilís to her pony – and it was love at first sight! It wasn't long before Eilís was spending all her time with ponies, in her element grooming horses, mucking out stables and exploring the Irish hills and forestry by horseback with her Rough Collie by her side. She was fortunate enough to be able to spend her weekends at pony clubs, hunting, hunter trials, eventing and show jumping.
Summers were spent working with mares and foals in Coolmore stud, learning all about the Thoroughbred industry in Ireland, and shadowing as many Veterinary Surgeons as would tolerate her. Other summers included working with boars, sows and piglets on a variety of pig farms - exploring the ways in which she could 'live the dream' and earn a living by working with animals.
Eilís graduated as a physiotherapist in 2007 from the University College of Dublin, Ireland, before travelling to New Zealand where she worked in private practice for 12 months. She traveled to Melbourne in 2008, planning to gain a further 12 months experience abroad before returning home to the Emerald Isle, but the draw of the Victorian culture and countryside has proved to be strong and has kept her here today, creating roots and a home in Australia with her very lucky Aussie husband.
After several wonderful years of working with people in both the acute and sub-acute public health sector as well as in private practice, Eilís decided to take the plunge and pursue her dream of studying Veterinary Physiotherapy.
In 2013, Eilís commenced her Master’s Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the University of Liverpool, UK, with a mixture of online correspondence and working with Australia’s most established physiotherapists to complete the practical tasks. Eilís completed her postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2015, and has since completed her Master’s Degree in 2016, evaluating long term outcomes for dogs post-cranial cruciate ligament surgery.
When not doing anything physio related, Eilís is most likely found trail running, creating art along with hanging out with her two adopted retiree hounds. Unfortunately, the late Indiana Jones left his family behind in November 2019, leaving Greyhound Adoption Program retiree Zafonic Josh and his sidekick little Taabi to try and fill his big paw prints and keep Eilís company, exploring the beautiful countryside of Victoria.
