IRON SERIES PART 5: Some symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia are often easily confused with day-to-day tiredness, stress, and our busy lives in general. However, if certain symptoms persist, do seek advice from your doctor to rule out iron deficiency anaemia.

Pica is an interesting one. Take note if start to notice that your child (older than toddler-age and has outgrown the oro-sensory exploration stage) begins to chew on their fingernails, clothing, stationery etc, especially if he or she is fussy/ picky with their food.

IRON SERIES PART 1: Have you been told by your doctor that "you have low iron"? Iron deficiency is more common than you think! Here are a ways to get your iron levels up!

Low iron levels are especially common in children with picky or fussy eating behaviours, as these children often prefer to not eat meat.

Iron is essential for babies from around 6 months as their stores from mum have started to deplete. Therefore, do start offering iron-rich foods for baby within the first month of offering baby's first solid foods.
