: Chloe

Chloe’s enthusiasm and commitment shine through in every swimming and tenpin bowling session. Passionate about both sports, she has dedicated herself to building her skills and continuing to grow as an athlete in the areas she loves most since joining Special Olympics - Melbourne Inner East in 2022.

With the guidance of Bowling Coordinator Trish and Swimming Coordinator Kate, Chloe has strengthened her technique and confidence, proudly representing MIE in competition.

A highlight of her journey came at the 2025 end of year presentations, where she received medals in both sports, recognising her effort and persistence throughout the season.

Chloe values the friendships and sense of belonging she has found through MIE and is motivated to keep improving her skills this year. Her positive spirit and determination make her a valued member of the club community.

: Brenton

Brenton’s sporting journey is grounded in connection, commitment, and the belief that everyone deserves a place in sport. As a Special Olympics - Melbourne Inner East athlete, team sport is where he thrives. It is about supporting others, being supported in return, and working together toward shared goals.

Across Ten Pin Bowling and gymnastics, Brenton’s dedication has led to remarkable achievements on and off the field. Along the way, his impact has been recognised through honours including the Robbie Wright Award, Boroondara Youth of the Year, Boroondara Citizen of the Year, the Person with a Lived Experience – Outstanding Contribution Award, and the Victorian Government’s Volunteer Impact Award. He has also celebrated podium success at the State Games, winning silver in bowling and gold in gymnastics.

Guided by committed coaches and mentors, Brenton has learned that sport is about more than results. Through Special Olympics, he has grown as a teammate, leader, and role model. He believes in giving things a go, lifting others up, and leading with kindness and respect.

Brenton joined Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East in 2010 and continues to train with purpose, with his sights set on one day competing at the National Games.
