Sava’s Fight Against MS - A HSCT Journey

Sava has finally left Melbourne (last Wednesday) for Mexico. He is now at Clinca Ruiz and has had his first two doses of Chemo. The next 8 or so days will consist of twice daily shots of filgrastim shots, which help bone marrow produce more blood cells. After this he will have surgery for a PICC line (central line) put in and they will harvest the stem cells and seperate the baby ones from the adult ones. He’ll then have two more doses of chemo and then the baby stem cells will be put back into his body. The baby cells have no knowledge of MS. So as they grow, they won’t be affected by MS. They should even help reduce symptoms and stop any active lesions he has (he only has two, the rest are inactive).
He’s doing so well. We’re so proud of him.

Happy Friday everyone!
Sava has now finally made it to Puebla, Mexico! It took them over a day to get to their destination due to protests in Mexico and Puebla (6.5 hour drive). Sava begins testing on the 3rd of June (2nd Mexico) followed by Chem for teo days. I’ll keep you updated with where hes at in his journey as he enters nee phases throughout the HSCT process. Please keep Sava in your thoughts and prayers ❤️ 🙏

Hi everyone,
Ash here. I’ll soon be sharing a video that gives a more complete picture of what’s been happening behind the scenes in our family. We’ve been completely honest and transparent about Sava’s health and his journey toward recovery. But up until now, we’ve chosen not to speak publicly about the other challenges we’ve been navigating as a family.

We now feel it’s important to share more—because so many of you have invested in this journey, and you deserve to understand why this treatment means everything. It’s not just about Sava getting better—it’s about holding our family together. We need him at his strongest.

There have been ongoing pressures and private battles that have placed a huge emotional and physical toll on our household. While Sava is away, I’ll continue carrying a lot on my shoulders as a carer and parent—with support from Mum—to keep everything going at home.
