Remedial Massage

Tailored to your needs, this very popular style of massage:

- Provides relief of muscular tension
- Facilitates relaxation and decreases stress.
- Helps with recovery from muscular injuries
- Enhances joint mobility
- Assists in improving local blood supply and circulation
- Reduces soft tissue adhesions

The therapist will assess your soft tissue condit

ion, and then treat the dysfunction that is the cause of pain, injury or stress. Remedial Massage is very effective in providing relief from muscular tension, migraines/ headaches, RSI, and sciatic pain. Deep Tissue Massage

More of a terminology used by people who want deeper pressure used in a Remedial Massage treatment,
to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The therapist will use deep, firm, sustained pressure or intense friction
techniques to reshape and realigning muscles and tendons. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. Sports Massage

Specifically designed for people who are involved in physical activity. But you don't have to be a professional athlete to have one, as it's also used by people who are active and work out often. The focus isn't on relaxation but on preventing and treating injury and enhancing athletic performance. A combination of techniques are used and will help to condition muscles and increase flexibility. There are two types of Sports Massage that we offer:

*Pre-Event Sports Massage: Therapist will use faster techniques to warm up the muscles to prepare you for physical activity.

*Post-Event Sports Massage: To be used after you have completed a workout, the therapist will use techniques that will help aid
the removal of lactic acid from the body, meaning you can recover faster. Relaxation Massage

Based on a well known Swedish technique this gentle and soothing treatment will help you relax and unwind. An ideal way to de-stress and re-energise, this treatment can also improve local blood supply, promote and assist rest and sleep,
reduce anxiety, and assist the lymphatic system. The pressure of the Relaxation Massage can be adjusted by the therapist, but this form of massage generally uses light pressure, with long, flowing strokes. Cupping Therapy with Massage

Cupping is used to help with myofascial release, and promotes the circulation of energy and blood flow. Using vacuum cups, this is an excellent method to help the body detox by drawing toxins and old blood to the surface,
and also beneficial for improving the common cold, pain, and old injuries to soft tissue. Foot Massage

Foot Massage is very relaxing, especially for people who stand on their feet all day, or wear uncomfortable footwear. We use a special blend of Lavender Cream, which has many great benefits for the skin due to its many ingredients and their properties.

30 minute sessions only. Pregnancy Massage also available

Parental leave announcement!

Hello everyone, Dave here. Just a quick post to announce the safe arrival of my second child. Baby Holly was born at 12:27am today after a very quick labour (3 and a half hours- amazing!). We are all happy, healthy and doing well.

I will be taking a little over 2 weeks off for parental leave, and will be available for bookings from Friday 14th April. In my absence Steven will be stepping up to do a few extra days- please refer to the calendar to see his availability.

Apologies to anyone affected by Holly’s slightly early arrival. I always dislike having to cancel appointments but I’m sure everyone understands the importance of the first few weeks of life, and I intend to give as much support to my little family in Holly’s early days.

Take care and see you soon.

Today this small business saw its 10,000th client through the door!

It's humbling to think back to our early days, waiting for the phone to ring and hoping to see enough people a week to cover the bills. I'm so proud to see the bookings grow to such a consistent level where we are booked out well in advance; the growth has truly been worth the effort put in.

A huge thanks to all of our clients. I feel fortunate to be in a career doing something I truly enjoy, helping to move people away from pain and enjoy a better quality of life. Here's to the next 10,000 sessions!

Hi everyone

With lockdown restrictions easing we are allowed to reopen from tomorrow, so our online booking is back up and running.

Please remember to wear a mask when entering the clinic, and please don't enter more than a few minutes before your scheduled start time. We do have density limits in the waiting room and it is safest to arrive as close to your start time as possible.

Hopefully we will see you soon!

Good news! With the Victorian Government easing restrictions, we are able to resume trade from tomorrow, Wednesday 28th October. Online booking is now available, so please head to www.easternmelbourneremedial.com.au to book your appointment, or use the Book Now tab on our page.

Starting out as Chadstone Massage Centre in 2010, we opened and traded from Fitness First Malvern Valley for over 10 years. In May 2020 we changed our name and moved to our current location 1323 High Street Malvern, working in conjunction with Tooronga Physiotherapy.

19/10/2020

Unfortunate news today, with our massage association confirming that Remedial Massage and Myotherapy are not included in the easing of restrictions that started from today. We will most likely be allowed to reopen in the next step, which is stated to happen on or before 11:59pm 1st November. The Premier mentioned this date could be moved forward if case numbers stay low, and with Victoria only recording another 4 cases today, we'll be keeping our fingers crossed.

It's not the news we wanted to hear, but it will (hopefully) only be another 2 weeks maximum until we are back.

Stay safe, and hopefully we will see you very soon.

It has been confirmed by DHHS that Remedial Massage will be allowed to reopen from the Third Step of the Road to Recovery, which is currently estimated to occur on or around October 19.

HOWEVER, to quote the official email from our association "The Third Step will trigger as soon as Victoria manages to reach an average of five or fewer new cases per day and fewer than five cases with an unknown source over a span of 14 days".

So basically, the date of the 19th is very much dependent on case numbers at the time. Given how low case numbers currently are I'm optimistic we will be allowed to open by that date. However until the date is set in stone I won't be reopening online bookings, in order to avoid any confusion and disappopintment if reopening is pushed back.

As soon as the reopening date is 100% confirmed, I'll be letting everyone know, both on Facebook and through email.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Those of us in the Remedial Massage industry were hopeful of reopening when stage 4 lockdown eases, which would have had us reopening next Monday 28th September. However it has been decided that Remedial Massage & Myotherapy WON'T be reopening until a later step. We have been told that this should be no later than October 26, hopefully earlier. I will continue to keep everyone in the loop, hopefully we will be back soon!

Dear valued clients

Due to the Australian government's decision to close all gyms under stage 1 of the Coronavirus shutdown, we are also forced to close indefinitely.

For over 10 years Chadstone Massage Centre has operated out of Fitness First Malvern Valley, and we have reaped the many benefits of our relationship with the gym. Unfortunately we will now be closing due to that same relationship. From today I will be cancelling all current bookings and blocking out our online booking software, as we cannot operate while the gym is closed.

My hope is once we have seen the end of the pandemic and the government has declared an end to the shutdown, that we can resume our work for you. I will be in touch the moment I know when I can reopen, but as there is no timeline for any of this, I cannot make any guarantees as to when this will be. If the shutdown remains at level 1 there is a small chance I could find another space to work from temporarily, or work out some other arrangement to see clients, but any further shutdowns would likely render this endeavour pointless.

For anyone with gift vouchers they were needing to redeem, I will be adding an extra 6 months to any vouchers that are due to expire. Please feel free to contact me about this or any other issue.

Thank you for your understanding and patience with this matter. I will be in touch as soon as the situation changes, and I hope to see you all soon.

Dave
