“Cord around the neck” – Should you be worried?
This is one of the most common questions we get every single week — and we completely understand why it’s a concern.
The truth is, a nuchal cord (when the umbilical cord wraps around the baby’s neck) is actually very common, occurring in about 1 in 3 births. In most cases, it’s not dangerous and doesn’t cause harm to the baby.
Modern obstetrics allows us to monitor and manage these situations safely, and for the vast majority of cases, it’s just a normal variation of pregnancy — not a complication.
Always happy to answer your questions — no concern is too small when it comes to your baby’s wellbeing. 💛
