Separation anxiety is a normal stage of development, especially in young children, but it can feel tough for both parents and kids. The good news is, with gentle practice and consistency, children can build confidence in being apart and trust that you will always return.

Here are some ways to support your child:
โœ”๏ธ Start small with short separations and gradually increase the distance.
โœ”๏ธ Keep goodbyes brief, calm, and predictable.
โœ”๏ธ Always return when you say you will...this builds trust.
โœ”๏ธ Praise your childโ€™s courage and celebrate small steps forward.

Alyce is a data-driven psychologist passionate about Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) and Deliberate Practice โ€” approaches that help clinicians grow intentionally and align with the recent APS Code of Conduct updates emphasising outcome-based care.
