The pharmacy shouldn’t feel like a checkout.
It should feel like healthcare.

That’s why our pharmacists are out speaking to patients, answering questions, educating, and making sure nobody walks away confused about their health.

Sometimes the most important part of healthcare is simply having someone accessible who listens.

Behind every healthcare professional is a human being carrying pressure most people never see.

The long shifts.
The responsibility.
The exhaustion.
The people we help while quietly fighting our own battles too.

So yes… sometimes we deserve the red carpet too.

From patient care to red carpet moments.
We can do both.

Cold weather didn’t give you a cold.

Kevin from work coughing everywhere did.

One of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a pharmacy student or early career pharmacist is choosing the right environment.

The right pharmacy won’t just give you shifts.
It will give you growth, confidence, mentorship, opportunity, and vision.

Your environment shapes the pharmacist you become.

Find people who challenge you.
Support you.
Teach you.
And inspire you to become more than you thought possible.

Because growth rarely happens where you’re comfortable.

That first antidepressant script should never feel like a 30-second transaction.

Mental health is bigger than just one prescription.

Sleep.
Stress.
Isolation.
Nutrition.
Hormones.
Vitamin deficiencies.
Lifestyle.
Trauma.
Physical health.

These things matter too.

Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to low mood and fatigue.
Magnesium plays a role in sleep, stress response, and nervous system function.

Not to replace treatment.
But to look at the whole person, not just the script.

Sometimes patients don’t just need counselling on the medication.
They need someone to actually ask questions and listen.

For 15 years, The Monty Montgomery Memorial Police Awards recognises the incredible men and women who serve and protect our community with courage, compassion, and humanity. As a Rotarian and Chair of Community Services, I felt very proud to be part of the night.

Hearing from Anthony Cianflone MP and Superintendent Wayne Cheesman was incredibly moving, especially this line that stayed with me all night:

“To be indifferent to suffering is what makes a human being inhuman.”

It speaks to the heart of service. Whether in policing, Rotary, or healthcare, it always comes back to people caring for people.

Congratulations to the five award recipients. Your dedication to the community does not go unnoticed.

Vaccine season is one of the busiest times of the year in pharmacy, and one thing most people never see behind the scenes is how important proper vaccine storage actually is.

Vaccines need strict temperature control to remain safe and effective, which is why purpose-built pharmacy refrigeration matters so much during high-volume vaccination periods.

A little pharmacy upgrade just in time for the season ahead, and honestly, anything that helps us protect cold chain integrity while keeping workflow smooth during busy clinic days is a win.

Here’s to a very busy vaccination season ahead at Pharmacy 777 Pascoe Vale.
