Direct Chemist Outlet offers a wide variety of products and services for all health, prescription medicines and beauty needs, at a fraction of the usual prices. As a growing chain of pharmacies, our brand was created to meet the needs of our customer requirements for the best quality service at the best possible price. Our first store was opened in Werrib

ee Victoria 2006, and our group has since grown considerably throughout Australia. With over 50 pharmacies nationwide we are looking to promote our ideology and brand to future pharmacies within local communities.

💙 It's National Diabetes Week, and our Retail Manager, Amy, is sharing her 15 year old daughter Layla's story with Type 1 Diabetes in hopes that it may help another family spot the signs early. It was Layla's 1 year Diaversary last week 💙

What is Type 1 Diabetes?
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. It is not lifestyle related, and while the exact cause is unknown, it's believed that a combination of genetic predisposition and environmental factors such as a viral infection may trigger this autoimmune response.

Layla had blood tests including blood glucose levels 6 months prior to her diagnosis, and at that stage, there were no signs of Type 1 Diabetes. The onset was quick.
