The face behind the hands at Huna Healing — hi, I’m Sharna.
I’ve noticed some new faces here, so I thought it might be a nice time to introduce myself.
I recently moved to Mission Beach with my family after living on Thursday Island for the past five years. Living on an island surrounded by the ocean shaped so much of the way I experience the world — I’ve always felt a deep love for the sea, and anything that connects me to it. 🌊
Which brings me to Ka Huna.
Ka Huna is an ancient form of bodywork originating in the Polynesian islands. The long, flowing, rhythmic strokes often feel like being gently cradled by the ocean itself.
I trained in Ka Huna Bodywork Levels 1 & 2 at the well-acclaimed Mettes Institute. Discovering bodywork felt like stepping into something that came naturally to me, and having the opportunity to offer this work as my profession truly feels like a privilege.
In a world where genuine connection can sometimes feel a little lost, touch has the power to bring us back into our bodies — calming the mind and reminding us what it feels like to truly slow down.
I feel incredibly grateful to share this work and to create a space where people can rest, reconnect, and be cared for.
I look forward to welcoming you to my table one day soon. ✨
