Confronting? Yes. True? Also yes 🛌
Research shows sleep isn’t just about feeling rested, it’s the foundation of physical and mental health. We’re overdue to talk about it!
From reducing risk of heart disease and diabetes, to regulating mood, memory, and even lifespan… sleep really is your body’s best attempt at self-preservation 🫶
And yet, in healthcare (and beyond), we glorify running on empty. Nights on-call. Early starts. Coffee as fuel. Exhaustion worn as a badge of honour.
But exhaustion isn’t dedication. It’s dysfunction. And it’s costing us our health, our relationships, and our joy.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing truths, stories, and science from my Sleep Soundly program, because it’s time we all prioritised deep, restorative rest.
