Pick up your pen or keyboard, entries for the 2026 Mayor’s Short Story Writing Awards are now open! 📚✨

Now in its sixth year, the awards celebrate and support local emerging writers of all abilities across the Mornington Peninsula. If you’re aged 8 or over, we’d love to read your story.

📖 Ages 8–12: 500 words – $500 + bookstore vouchers
📖 Ages 13–17: 1000 words – $800 + bookstore vouchers

What you need to know about RSA training in Victoria

To sell or serve alcohol at certain licensed venues and stores in Victoria, you need to complete a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course approved by Liquor Control Victoria (LCV).
The approved RSA course includes information about Victorian liquor laws, drink spiking, harm minimisation strategies and how to recognise, prevent and respond to sexual harassment and assault. To make sure you’re completing an approved course, visit the LCV website https://www.vic.gov.au/approved-rsa-course-providers for a complete list of approved RSA course providers.

Our Drop-Ins are a welcoming space to hang out, feel safe and socialise with friends.
We’re also have running at The Corner Youth Hub the Song Makers program, a songwriting program perfect if you’re feeling creative and want to make some music with the crew.

Join us for the 2nd Emergency Services Open Day 🚒

📅 Sunday 19 April | 🕙 10am–2pm

📍 Fred Smith Reserve, Marine Parade, Hastings
Enjoy a fun, free, family friendly day out featuring live demonstrations, vehicle and boat displays, plus food and drinks. Meet your local emergency services, learn important safety tips, and show your support for our first responders.

We’re also excited to have Inspire Change Crew joining us an incredible FMX/BMX action sports team and youth organisation. Through high energy shows, mentoring, BMX coaching, they empower at risk youth, build confidence, and promote mental health awareness.

Don’t miss this great day out for the whole community!

Hey young people aged 14–19! The Mission Australia Youth Survey is back — a chance to share your thoughts on the issues that matter to you, as well as your hopes and challenges.

💥 Celebrating 25 years, it’s Australia’s largest annual survey of young people. Last year, over 17,000 young people took part - this year, we want even more voices.
🗣 The survey is anonymous, online and only takes a few minutes. It covers topics like cost of living, mental health, study, work, climate, and social media.
📱If you’re 14–19, jump in and have your say!
